Fukuoka Games Sprint 2023: An Opportunity for Aspiring Game Creators
The Creative Lab Fukuoka is thrilled to announce the opening of registration for the second edition of the Fukuoka Games Sprint. This initiative aims to foster the local gaming industry by securing and developing talent. Participants, including professional creators and students, will engage in a transformative two-day game jam, where they will conceptualize and create games. This event not only aims to enhance the skill set of students but also encourages their aspirations to join local companies in the industry.
This year's event includes notable changes, such as the incorporation of guest game creators for pre-events tailored specifically for students. Additionally, workshops will be available for junior high and high school students, allowing them to experience game development hands-on.

Pre-Event: Let’s Talk About Game Creation!
Ahead of the Game Jam, we will hold a pre-event focused on the joy of game creation! Attendees will have the chance to learn and gather tips through talks and review events led by professional creators about the allure of the Game Jam and the intricacies of game development.

Special Guest: Kazunari Yonemitsu
Kazunari Yonemitsu, born in Hiroshima, will be a guest speaker. He is a renowned game writer, creator, and professor at Digital Hollywood University. His impressive portfolio includes works ranging from computer games to board games, with notable titles like “Puyo Puyo,” “BAROQUE,” and “The Game of Saying Huh?” He is committed to enhancing creative expression and idea generation, conducting various educational activities including workshops.
Game Jam: Collaborate with Professionals in Game Development!
During the Game Jam, participants will form teams and create games over two days. Professionals will join these teams to provide support and advice throughout the development process. On the evening of the second day, there will be a presentation and networking event showcasing the work produced during the Game Jam, where guests can enjoy playtesting and receive feedback from experts in the industry.

Note: Graduated individuals and high school students with game development experience can also participate. Programming participants must be capable of coding using programming languages.
