Tori Fest Niigata: A Celebration for Bird Lovers

Attention all bird lovers! This weekend, on May 30th and 31st, the highly anticipated “Tori Fest Niigata” will be held at the NOC Plaza in Niigata City. Organized by the renowned Cotori Cafe, known for its charming concept of enjoying coffee while admiring birds, this festival is a must-visit for any avian enthusiast.

The event will take place at the NOC Plaza’s first floor NOC Hall, conveniently located just five kilometers from Niigata Station. With free parking available, attendees can easily drive in and immerse themselves in the world of adorable bird-themed merchandise.

From 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturday and from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Sunday, visitors will have the chance to browse a diverse array of colorful bird-related creations from popular creators across Japan. This event truly embodies the spirit of celebration and appreciation for our feathered friends, being “a festival by bird lovers, for bird lovers.”

Notably, the festival will also feature a booth from CAP! which specializes in bird food, providing an opportunity for owners to purchase the best nutrition for their beloved pets. Attendees can also indulge in other avian-themed offerings from local favorites such as Bird Cafe Torin’s Home and the Osaka-based Kotorisumairu. The atmosphere promises to be filled with wonderful experiences, allowing guests to explore countless adorable goods dedicated to birds.

As an additional highlight, the Hyouko Swan Observation House from Agano City will be making its first appearance at the festival, bringing a unique touch to the gathering. This is an exceptional chance not just to shop but to learn and connect with others who share the same passion for birds.

An entry fee of ¥500 is required, while children under elementary school age can enter for free. Guests will receive a delightful A5 clear file featuring charming illustrations by the guest artist Yuriyaya, adding an extra incentive to attend. There are no advanced ticket sales, and while there will be no live birds or food stalls, it’s important to note that pets are not allowed in the venue.
