Age-Well HOSHIGAOKA: A Celebration of Multigenerational Engagement
On December 6th and 7th, 2025, Nagoya will host the first Age-Well HOSHIGAOKA festival at Hoshigaoka Terrace, aiming to foster intergenerational connections through a series of engaging activities. Organized by AgeWell Japan, the event embodies the philosophy of “Aging Positively through Challenges and Discoveries,” bringing together children, seniors, and everyone in between for a unique community experience.
AgeWell Japan, based in Shibuya, Tokyo, has previously hosted the Age-Well Festival in the capital, attracting over 16,000 visitors in 2025 alone. This year, the event is expanding its reach to Nagoya, a city that embraces its multigenerational population and promotes collaboration across different age groups.
The Concept Behind Age-Well HOSHIGAOKA
The Age-Well HOSHIGAOKA festival aims to cultivate a society where everyone can age with positivity. The event is designed as a “Festival of Discovery,” allowing participants of all ages to learn, explore, and enjoy various programs. Attendees can look forward to booths from various companies featuring interactive experiences and activities aligned with the Age-Well philosophy.
The Hoshigaoka area itself represents a forward-thinking urban environment, marked by its redevelopment efforts and a vibrant mix of educational institutions like Sugiyama Jogakuen University. This neighborhood serves as the perfect backdrop for a festival designed to bridge generations and create new connections.
During the festival, participants will have access to a range of programs and activities, including:
- - Special talk sessions hosted by the Vice Mayor of Nagoya.
- - Performances by the senior dance team, FIDA JAPAN Dance Health Club.
- - Refreshing shoulder and back exercise sessions led by Chanmika.
- - A talk show featuring Yamata Tomiyo, popularly known as “Grandma from the Expo.”
Note: Some programs may be subject to change or addition.
