Launching Disaster Bike Support Unit: Rocky Club for Swift Aid and Community Benefit

Launch of the Disaster Bike Support Unit: Rocky Club

On April 29, 2026, the Japan Riders Forum (JRF) will launch the "Rocky Club," a disaster bike support unit designed to utilize the agility of motorcycles for effective disaster relief operations. The event will take place at the East Event Square of the Ocean Forest Water Sports Complex in Koto City, Tokyo. This initiative aims to equip everyday riders with essential skills through a unique training curriculum that prepares them for disaster response scenarios.

The Importance of the Rocky Club

In Japan, a country particularly prone to natural disasters, the immediate aftermath often sees blocked roads and severe traffic congestion, significantly hindering rescue efforts. Recognizing this challenge, JRF introduces the "Rocky Club" to harness motorcycles' excellent off-road capabilities for swift information gathering, material transport, and community outreach during times of crisis. The program seeks to promote the value of motorcyclists as integral members of society, advocating for a "motorcycle-supportive community."

Special Guests and Unique Exhibitions

The launch event will feature prominent guests from the motorcycle industry, including renowned founder Tadao Suzuki of SP忠男 and multi-talented Rikako Fukuyama, who will share insights on the potential for social contributions through motorcycles.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to explore customized disaster support bikes like the "CT125 Hunter Cub." A special showcase will include the "Majesty" by Yamaha, which was utilized by JRF representative Makoto Kazama during his journey across the Eurasian continent. This vehicle embodies the spirit of community service through motorcycling, representing a continuation of the concepts behind the "Nippon Support Touring".

Kicking Off "Nippon Support Touring 2026"

Simultaneously, the event will mark the kickoff meeting for the "Nippon Support Touring 2026," which falls in its seventh year since its inception in 2020. This touring rally encourages riders to visit designated "tourism support spots" across Japan while using social media to spread awareness and promote local consumption, thus supporting disaster recovery and revitalizing rural areas.

Community Engagement and Charitable Initiatives

In collaboration with the Koto City Social Welfare Council, the event will also feature a donation program where participating riders can bring local specialty sweets to distribute to children’s cafeterias. Concurrently, a beautification project will be conducted in the surrounding area, highlighting the charitable spirit and community involvement of riders beyond just riding events.
