Randstad Promotes Gratitude Among Employees with Unique Initiatives for Labor Thanksgiving Week 2025

Promoting Gratitude: Randstad's Initiatives for Labor Thanksgiving Week 2025

As the Labor Thanksgiving Week approaches in Japan, Randstad Corporation is gearing up to foster a culture of gratitude among its employees. From November 10 to 23, 2025, the company will roll out engaging initiatives focused on appreciation and recognition within the workplace. This year’s theme is built around a special message card accompanied by uniquely crafted chocolate in the shape of postage stamps, symbolizing the joy of sending messages of thanks.

Meaningful Connections in a Challenging Labor Market

The Labor Thanksgiving Week encourages everyone in the workforce to express gratitude not only towards their colleagues but also for themselves and those who support them. In light of the challenges posed by talent shortages, increased turnover rates, and changing workplace attitudes, the need for positive workplace relationships and a sense of appreciation is more critical than ever.

In 2024, the initiative garnered participation from 21 companies including Randstad, all of whom engaged in diverse and creative gratitude projects. Feedback indicated that this initiative helped cultivate a culture of mutual respect among employees, particularly in a time when remote working was contributing to weakened connections. It also provided an excellent opportunity for self-reflection regarding day-to-day work.

Facilitating Gratitude Through Innovative Channels

Randstad will actively promote the exchange of gratitude messages both offline and online this year. At approximately 50 locations throughout Japan, message cards along with the unique chocolate will be provided for employees to share freely with their colleagues and families. To ensure that remote employees can also partake in this initiative, a special webpage on the company's intranet will allow them to post and receive messages of thanks easily.

Additionally, the employee who sends or receives the most gratitude messages will be awarded the title of 'MVP of Thanks' and will receive a special gift, encouraging active participation in this heartwarming campaign.

Honoring Temporary Staff Across Japan

Randstad understands that appreciation extends beyond permanent employees. The company has planned Thank You events across 40 locations nationally, specifically aimed at expressing gratitude towards temporary staff who tirelessly contribute to the company's operations. While these Thank You events are held year-round, they become particularly concentrated during Labor Thanksgiving Week in November, emphasizing appreciation during this meaningful time.
