Shanghai Electric Dazzles at Intersolar Europe 2025, Driving Global Energy Transformation with Innovative Solutions

Shanghai Electric Shines at Intersolar Europe 2025

From May 7 to 9, 2025, the renowned solar industry exhibition, Intersolar Europe, took place in Munich, Germany, where Shanghai Electric (SEHK: 2727, SSE: 601727) presented its latest innovative solutions aimed at enhancing the global energy landscape. This year, the company particularly highlighted its advancements in photovoltaic and hydrogen energy technologies, focusing on energy storage solutions that play a vital role in expediting Europe’s transition to carbon neutrality.

Pioneering Green Technologies

During the event, Shanghai Electric impressed attendees with its collaborative achievements and cutting-edge technology tailored to meet the ever-growing energy demands globally. The company has made significant strides in developing energy-efficient systems, thereby positioning itself as a forerunner in advancing sustainable energy technologies.

Shanghai Electric’s subsidiary, Shanghai Bright-H Technology, unveiled its latest generation of electrolyzers from the Bristack® series, marking a notable leap in green hydrogen technology. Certified by TÜV Rheinland, these electrolyzers come in alkaline models with capacities ranging from 100 to 3000 Nm³/h and PEM models from 10 to 400 Nm³/h. Their high current density, low energy consumption, and rapid response capabilities promise to enhance hydrogen production efficiency significantly. With an annual capacity of 1 gigawatt for alkaline and 200 megawatts for PEM electrolyzers, scaling up green hydrogen deployment has never been easier.

Additionally, Shanghai Electric showcased its advanced photovoltaic products, which include the Creator 210R heterojunction modules capable of delivering 640W output with a bifaciality reaching 90%. The company also presented its cost-effective TOPCon modules and Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV), designed to cater to a diverse range of market demands.

Commitment to Sustainability

Shanghai Electric’s modular solutions are engineered for sustainable construction sites, enhancing low-carbon energy supplies while improving installation efficiency by 50%. The module system includes five components—a console and BIPV roof—allowing for quick assembly with screws or self-drilling screws, facilitating flexible expansions according to project requirements.

The company's multi-energy system, which integrates solar and hydrogen technologies, aims to optimize investment and operational costs, thereby unlocking the potential of unused land while ensuring lifelong services that enhance project sustainability and energy efficiency. Moreover, Shanghai Electric’s expertise, coupled with local adaptability, stands as a testament to its capacity to support Europe’s transition towards green energy and achieving zero net emissions by 2050.

Notable Projects and Future Directions

In the UK, Shanghai Electric independently developed, constructed, and activated eight photovoltaic projects with a combined energy storage capacity of 220 MWh, of which 100 MWh are already operational. This initiative is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions annually by approximately 112,000 tons. The photovoltaic project in Romania, also developed with Shanghai Electric's involvement, aims to provide green electricity to over 120,000 households upon its completion.

Furthermore, the Pančevo power plant in Serbia, designed in full compliance with European standards by Shanghai Electric, has generated a cumulative total of over 950 million kilowatt-hours of electricity since becoming operational, significantly boosting local energy supply capacities.

In summary, Shanghai Electric’s engagement at Intersolar Europe 2025 marked a significant moment in showcasing its cutting-edge innovations that are necessary for global sustainability efforts. As it continues to drive the adoption of green technologies and solutions, Shanghai Electric remains committed to building a environmentally-friendly future for the energy sector.
