Exclusive Summer Cooking Class for Diners Club Members and Their Kids

Experience Culinary Joy at the Summer Cooking Class

This August, an exciting opportunity awaits families with children at the esteemed Hotel InterContinental Tokyo Bay. As part of the Diners Club French Restaurant Week, the hotel is hosting a Summer Cooking Class exclusively for Diners Club members on August 5. This initiative emphasizes the joy of cooking and eating together, allowing families to forge meaningful connections through culinary arts.

During the event, participants will delve into the world of authentic French cooking, guided by the head chef of the hotel's New York-style French dining venue, Manhattan. The cooking class aims to cultivate children's interest in food and cooking, as they learn to prepare two delightful dishes: Seafood Marinade with Consommé Jelly and Charlotte, a classic dessert. Children will don custom chef hats and aprons, providing a hands-on experience as they witness expert demonstrations and partake in the cooking process alongside their parents.

After an engaging cooking session, families will gather at the Manhattan restaurant, where they will enjoy a specially prepared lunch featuring the dishes they created, paired with stunning views of Tokyo Bay.Each participating child will also receive a recipe pack and a certificate recognising their completion of the class, encouraging them to continue exploring their culinary interests at home.

The event runs from 11:30 to 14:30, with registration beginning at 11:15 in the hotel's lobby.

In a relaxed atmosphere reminiscent of a seaside boathouse, families will have the chance to not only learn culinary skills but also foster a deeper appreciation for food and its sustainability. The event aligns with the larger theme of Diners Club French Restaurant Week, which runs from September 18 to October 18, showcasing sustainable French cuisine nationwide.

As part of this initiative, over 500 French restaurants across Japan will offer special menus focused on local sourcing and reducing food waste, available to both Diners Club members and the public at affordable prices. The Summer Cooking Class stands as a vibrant precursor to this culinary celebration.
