Spectacular Kite Festival: 1,000 Kites Illuminate the Sky
The 47th Itabashi Ward Parent-Child Kite Flying Festival is set to take place on April 29, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Arakawa Todabashi Green Space Baseball Field. This annual event aims to bring families together for a fun day of kite flying, showcasing traditional outdoor activities in a beautiful riverside setting.

Activities

Free Kite Distribution: The first 1,000 children (up to 6th grade) will receive a kite at no cost.

Kite Demonstration & Repair: There will be a station for explaining how to fly kites, along with a repair corner for damaged kites.
3.
Kite Flying Exhibition: Enjoy impressive displays of large and unique kites from various parts of Japan.
4.
Homemade Kite Contest: Families can showcase their creativity in a competition for handmade kites.

The festival is organized by the Itabashi Ward and the Itabashi Board of Education, with support from various local organizations including the Itabashi Ward Youth Healthy Development Rencon, Funado, Takashimadakumi District Committee, and more. Other collaborators include Boy Scouts from the Johoku area, Nagato Drum Performance Group, and food vendors such as Takosmile, SK GARAGE, and Moss Food Service.
