Sunwoda Unveils Innovative High-Capacity Batteries at RE+ 25 Event
On September 12, 2025, Sunwoda, a leading global provider of comprehensive energy storage solutions, made a significant mark at the RE+ 25 event by introducing two cutting-edge high-capacity battery models: the 684Ah and 588Ah. This launch not only showcases Sunwoda’s commitment to advancing battery technology but also aims to meet the growing demands of the global energy storage market.
Dr. Sam Chen, the CEO of Sunwoda's BESS Business Unit, emphasized the importance of these new models, noting that they represent a crucial milestone in the company’s continuous development and enhancement of large-capacity energy storage technologies. “We strive to create a thoughtful and reliable product portfolio that caters to various application scenarios, providing enhanced value to our customers throughout the lifecycle and return on investment,” he stated.
Features and Innovations
The 684Ah battery, designed with advanced modular technology, boasts an impressive energy density of over 440Wh/L. It integrates thermoelectric separation with a three-dimensional heat dissipation structure, promising safe and stable operations. Engineered for a long lifespan exceeding 20 years, the battery is compatible with 10-, 20-, and 30-foot containers. The high-density design offset container usage by 27%, thus reducing assembly times and costs while lowering the Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) by 8%. Such efficiencies significantly enhance deployment speed and overall economic viability.
Mass production for the 684Ah model is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025, positioning Sunwoda well to meet anticipated market demand.
Meanwhile, the 588Ah battery utilizes a proven winding technology improved by innovative advancements that minimize lithium losses, extending the battery’s lifespan to 10,000 cycles at 70% State of Health (SOH), ensuring reliable operation for over 20 years. Its energy efficiency reaches 96.5%, coupled with improved electrolyte safety and a directed air venting design, enhancing operational longevity and cost-effectiveness.
A Leader in Energy Technology
As a frontrunner in energy innovations, Sunwoda has recently ranked among the top global battery suppliers in the first half of 2025, securing its place as a Tier 1 manufacturer of energy storage equipment in BloombergNEF’s rankings. The company's ongoing expansion of its international production capabilities is evident, with manufacturing bases established across China, Thailand, Hungary, and more, ensuring localized, efficient, and reliable supply chain support for worldwide markets.
The introduction of the 684Ah and 588Ah batteries is set to bolster Sunwoda’s direction toward developing large-capacity energy storage solutions, recognized as pivotal in facilitating a transition to a sustainable energy future.
