The highly anticipated event, 'Acchē! Niigata Fest 2026', is set to take place on August 3rd, 2026, at the iconic Tokyu Kabukicho Tower in Shinjuku, Tokyo. This festival promises to deliver the best of Niigata's summer culture, including the renowned Nagaoka Fireworks Festival and the delightful Edamame Eating Championship.

Tokyu Kabukicho Tower, operated by TST Entertainment, has become a central hub for entertainment, embodying the spirit of 'pursuing what you love'. This venue regularly hosts events showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Japan, making it a destination for both locals and foreign tourists. The success of last year's event has paved the way for an even more exciting lineup this year, which includes events that celebrate traditional Japanese festivals.

Event Highlights


The Acchē! Niigata Fest 2026 will include:
  • - A live viewing of the famous Nagaoka Matsuri Fireworks Festival, recognized as one of the three major fireworks festivals in Japan.
  • - The World Edamame Eating Championship where contestants will race against time to eat as much edamame as possible within a minute.
  • - The Momo Taro Ice giveaway, a local delicacy from Niigata.
  • - A traditional Niigata dance performance, Geta Sō Odori, celebrated in the streets.

World Edamame Eating Championship


This international event is a fun competition centered around quickly consuming edamame. With its roots in Nagaoka City, the competition emphasizes both speed and presentation, offering participants a visually appealing mound of Niigata edamame. This year, participants will compete to see how many grams they can consume in one minute, with significant prizes awaiting the victor. Additionally, rising star Rio Nanami, a current university student and idol from Niigata, will be a special guest at the event, adding to the excitement!

Location: First Stage, 2nd Floor of Tokyu Kabukicho Tower (within the Shinjuku Kabuki Hall - Kabukicho Yokocho restaurant area)

Entry Fee: 3000 yen (includes beer, locally sourced edamame, and fish & chips)
