This summer, the Ariake Garden, managed by Sumitomo Realty & Development Co., Ltd., celebrated its 5th anniversary by hosting the Ariake Dinosaur Garden Summer event. This large-scale dinosaur-themed initiative has successfully attracted visitors from across the Tokyo Bay area, creating a vibrant atmosphere during the summer months. The event drew a significant number of families, including three generations attending together, as well as a considerable influx of inbound tourists from different parts of Asia, such as Taiwan and Hong Kong.
One of the highlights of the event was the collaboration with Kodansha’s interactive book series, MOVE. Visitors enjoyed a quiz rally, panel displays, dinosaur attractions, and engaging workshops, all designed to captivate the young audience. Exclusive dinosaur-themed food and drinks were offered, and the collaborations with mall tenants saw an impressive demand, with many items selling out quickly. This added an extra layer of excitement and made each visit to the garden a unique experience.
The event's centerpiece was the live dinosaur show, DINO-A-LIVE: 'A Dinosaur Odyssey 2025,' which provided an exhilarating experience for attendees. Special premium seating options, including the exclusive "Yogibo seat", were particularly popular and received positive feedback. Moreover, tickets offered as part of the Koto Ward hometown tax incentives were met with a high volume of requests, indicating the event’s strong appeal. Just ahead of the event opening, a promotional activity featuring a Tyrannosaurus Rex in Akihabara gained substantial traction on social media, generating buzz and excitement for the main event.
As part of the ongoing 5th anniversary celebrations, the Ariake Garden is hosting various events throughout the year. A new dining area called 'ARIAKE FOOD STAGE' was launched earlier in January, providing visitors with fresh culinary experiences. The month of June featured an anniversary festival filled with promotions, raffles, and family-friendly activities.
Looking ahead, the Ariake Dinosaur Garden Summer event will be followed by a broader celebration in the fall labeled as the 'Grand Festival.' This will culminate the yearly anniversary activities with a series of sales, special promotions, character shows, and much more.
Nestled in the Tokyo Bay area, the Ariake Garden has emerged as a new landmark since its opening in 2020. It is a multifaceted commercial complex that houses a large shopping mall, the Tokyo Garden Theater, a wellness center, a hotel, and the Shiki Theatre.
Additionally, the 'Show Your Discount' service allows guests to enjoy perks throughout the complex. By simply displaying tickets or receipts from any of the facilities within Ariake Garden, attendees can take advantage of various discounts at mall stores. This service is designed to cater not only to locals but also to visitors who come for events or sightseeing in the area. For more information on discounts and events, be sure to explore the official Ariake Garden website.
A special thanks goes to all the families and visitors who attended the Ariake Dinosaur Garden Summer event, making it a successful celebration of nature's most fascinating creatures while fostering community and connection among all generations.
