Nessu Inc. Showcases Innovative Donation Platform at Impact Startup Summit 2025

Nessu Inc.'s Impact at IMPACT STARTUP SUMMIT 2025

On October 14, 2025, Nessu Inc., a startup based in Setagaya, Tokyo, participated in the highly anticipated IMPACT STARTUP SUMMIT 2025 at the Tokyo Convention Hall in Kyobashi. With the mission to eradicate opportunity disparities faced by children based on their backgrounds, Nessu Inc. showcased its innovative initiative, Kodomo Furusato-bin, which facilitates donations fostering food and experiential opportunities for children.

The event, organized by the Impact Startup Association, gathered startups focused on solving social issues under the theme of 'Impact Showcase – A Marketplace for Social Solutions.' Companies addressing diverse areas like education, environment, healthcare, and community revitalization came together to share their efforts aimed at creating positive social changes.

Nessu's Impactful Showcase

The atmosphere at the venue was vibrant, filled with passionate dialogues among businesses striving to tackle social challenges. Nessu's booth drew considerable attention, where representatives introduced the concept of Kodomo Furusato-bin through engaging panels. This program allows donors to contribute to local specialties and products for children in need, including those from single-parent families and children suffering from severe diseases, thus transforming the traditional furusato (hometown) tax system into a more empathetic donation model.

Visitors expressed enthusiastic support and curiosity, leading to insightful discussions. Feedback from investors and corporate representatives highlighted the timeliness of Nessu's approach:
  • - "Municipalities promoting clear usage of donations align with future expectations for furusato tax programs."
  • - "The ability for donors to select who they support is a novel concept."
  • - "This initiative connects donors to child welfare effortlessly, widening community involvement."

Nessu's booth effectively communicated the vision and operational framework behind the Kodomo Furusato-bin initiative, garnering support from a diverse audience including investors, stakeholders, and social entrepreneurs.

Insights from Nessu's CEO, Yuki Kido

Nessu's CEO, Yuki Kido, shared his thoughts on the event stating,
"This experience reinforced my belief that empathy can indeed drive societal change. Each donation can create smiles among children and reinforce regional industries, shaping Japan's future. Going forward, the focus of furusato donations has shifted from mere incentives to meaningful impacts, and we at Nessu aim to bridge donor intentions with community needs."

Kido's journey into this sphere was notably influenced by his childhood encounters with opportunity disparities among children. After obtaining his degree from Keio University, he honed his skills in corporate strategy and social initiatives through various roles, eventually establishing Nessu Inc. in June 2022 as an impact startup focused on addressing these vital issues.

Understanding Kodomo Furusato-bin

With approximately 1 in 9 children in Japan living in relative poverty, and nearly half of single-parent households facing such dire circumstances, the Kodomo Furusato-bin initiative was born out of a necessity to address these inequalities. This program allows donations through the furusato tax system to send regional specialties and experiences as 'support products' to children’s dining facilities and those in critical need.

On the platform launched on the day of the summit, donors can select both the regions and organizations they wish to support, making their contributions more meaningful. Current collaborations include projects in Asahikawa City and other regional partnerships focused on enhancing support for children facing challenges.

Looking ahead, Nessu aims to inspire donors to thoughtfully choose not only what they deliver but also to whom, advocating for a more empathetic engagement model in the furusato tax ecosystem.
