Fujitv's Original Drama 'Contrast' Set to Broadcast on Air Starting June 30!

Fujitv has officially confirmed that its original drama, 'Contrast,' will be broadcast on terrestrial television starting June 30, with episodes airing every Tuesday (local broadcast in the Kanto region). This thrilling adaptation of the popular BL comic by itz, features the talented duo of Haruhi Iuchi and Haruse Akune in leading roles. Their on-screen chemistry brings to life a touching coming-of-age love story about two young men—Shota and Hinata—who, though contrasting in personality, develop a deep bond that resonates with viewers.

Since its debut on FOD, 'Contrast' has captivated audiences, securing the number one spot in FOD's general rankings for three consecutive days and maintaining a presence in the top 10 of domestic drama rankings for over a month. The plot intricately weaves through the emotional landscapes of friendship and love as Shota and Hinata navigate their feelings, making the entire viewing experience a heartwarming journey for the audience.

In anticipation of the show's terrestrial debut, both lead actors have shared their excitement. Haruhi Iuchi expressed, "I have always wished for 'Contrast' to be on air. It’s a joy to think that this work might touch people's hearts and give them strength in their daily lives. I hope to share this experience in real-time with my co-star Haruse and all our viewers."

On the other hand, Haruse Akune shared his happiness over the air broadcast decision, noting how listeners should look forward to their compelling portrayal of 'Shota and Hinata’s high school life.' He urged both newcomers and seasoned viewers to enjoy this heartfelt drama.

Additionally, fans will be delighted to know that a lengthy behind-the-scenes documentary titled 'Making of Contrast' is set to be released. Following the terrestrial airing of the first episode, this insightful content will offer a deeper understanding of the characters and the creative process behind the series.

Moreover, to celebrate the series, original merchandise will be made available for purchase, alongside a pop-up store showcasing elements from the show. The store will also provide a rich experience with panel displays, costume exhibits, and props utilized during filming. This pop-up event will take place at Manga Exhibition Shibuya from July 3 to July 20, and at Manga Exhibition Tennoji from July 24 to August 2.

After countless requests, fans can shop for exclusive items online starting June 15, with various physical stores also carrying the merchandise from June 22 onwards.

The story of 'Contrast' dives into the lives of two followers from different walks of life: the popular yet somewhat detached Aoyama Shota and the academically talented loner Senkawa Hinata. While they remain strangers within their class, fate intervenes when these two discover one another on a rooftop, establishing a secret bond that transforms their everyday realities. As they share their thoughts and experiences through a single pair of headphones, viewers witness an emotional connection that transcends the boundaries of their isolated worlds.

Set to air in eight episodes, 'Contrast' marks a significant addition to Fujitv's repertoire, promising a blend of poignant storytelling and compelling character development. The excitement surrounding the first airing is palpable, and audiences are just as eager to delve into this unique exploration of youth and emotion, shared through the lens of the characters’ experiences.

Details surrounding the broadcast schedule, official merchandise, and additional content can be found on Fujitv's official website and social media. This endeavor not only highlights the engaging narrative of the series but also emphasizes Fujitv's commitment to providing exclusive, high-quality entertainment, further enriching the viewer experience with immersive events and products.
