In a groundbreaking initiative, Digital Promise and QuantHub have announced a multi-year partnership aimed at embedding digital fluency into K-12 career pathway programs across the United States. This collaboration seeks to equip learners with essential skills such as data science, artificial intelligence (AI), and cybersecurity, preparing them for a modern workforce that increasingly values these capabilities.

The landscape of work is rapidly evolving, with an estimated 30% of core workplace skills having transformed over the last decade. According to findings from The Burning Glass Institute, digital advancements are reshaping job requirements at a rate significantly faster than historical trends, impacting around 35 million American workers. Alarmingly, while more than 60% of job roles featuring AI are in non-technical sectors, the current educational focus tends to lean heavily towards technology-specific skills.

Jean-Claude Brizard, president and CEO of Digital Promise, emphasized the urgency of the situation: “With the fast-paced changes in the nature of work, we must evaluate whether our educational environments are evolving accordingly. This partnership represents a commitment to systemic access, integrating digital fluency into every educational pathway, thereby enabling students to apply their skills across a variety of industries, including healthcare and skilled trades.”
