Ashley for the Arts: A Celebration of Community and Creativity
In Arcadia, Wisconsin, the vibrant festival known as
Ashley for the Arts has once again proven its significance as a beloved community event. Over the course of three days, from August 6-8, the festival transformed Memorial Park into a bustling hub of activity, welcoming thousands of attendees eager for entertainment, art, and family-friendly fun.
The festival featured an extensive lineup of musical performances, art displays, and diverse food options, effectively offering something for everyone. The event not only served as a platform for artists and entertainers but also played a crucial role in supporting local education and charitable organizations, raising an impressive
$735,000 for over
70 participating schools and nonprofits.
"We are incredibly grateful for the fans, volunteers, sponsors, and community members who make
Ashley for the Arts possible year after year," stated
Cole Bawek, the Event Director. The festival kicked off with an engaging
Pursuit of a Cure Glow Run and a foam party aimed at increasing awareness and funding for critical medical research.
A standout feature of the festival was the dedication of
On Angels Wings, a monument honoring active military personnel, showcasing the community's appreciation for service members. The plethora of entertainment included acts from popular artists like
Jon Pardi,
Keith Urban, and
Gene Simmons Band among others, ensuring a weekend filled with high-energy performances across various genres including country and rock.
Art and creativity flourished throughout the event, with
Art & Craft vendors displaying their unique creations along Memorial Park Drive. Demonstrations were held by select vendors, allowing attendees to engage deeply with the creative process. The festival also introduced the
Ashley Zone, where families could join in on hands-on activities such as
Painting in the Park, bingo, axe throwing, and even a mini-golf course. The addition of a new
drone show brought a breathtaking visual display to the night sky, thrilling spectators of all ages.
For families, the weekend was replete with affordable and enjoyable activities. They could explore an
Inflatable Air Park, visit a petting zoo, and participate in grilling demonstrations hosted by the
McLemore Boys. The incorporation of roaming street performers and
Timberwork's Lumberjack Show only added to the lively atmosphere, creating a festive ambiance for everyone involved.
In its essence,
Ashley for the Arts stands as a significant initiative for affordable access to music and art while giving back to the community. Since its inception by
Ashley Furniture Industries in 2009, the festival has been one of Wisconsin's largest charitable events, contributing over
$5 million towards nonprofit organizations, including schools and children’s charities.
As attendees left with smiles and memories, there was a warm gratitude expressed towards all the volunteers, sponsors, emergency personnel, and security teams who worked tirelessly throughout the weekend to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
