Historic Achievement: Jayson Woodbridge's Six 100-Point Wines Marks Milestone for Hundred Acre Winery

Jayson Woodbridge Makes Wine History

In an unprecedented achievement in the wine industry, Jayson Woodbridge, the founder of Hundred Acre Wine Group, has reached a remarkable milestone by obtaining six perfect 100-point scores for his wines from esteemed wine critics. This remarkable feat places him as the first winery owner and winemaker ever to accomplish such a record in a single vintage.

The Incredible Vintage of 2021

The 2021 vintage represents a groundbreaking year for Woodbridge and his team, with the introduction of the new wine, Holy Quest. This wine, along with five others—Hundred Acre Ark, Dark Ark, Few and Far Between, Morgan's Way, and Wraith—all achieved the maximum score, a rare combination that reflects a dedication to excellence.

Landon Patterson, the CEO of Hundred Acre, commented, "We are incredibly proud of our 2021 vintage. This accomplishment not only embodies the hard work and passion of Jayson and the Hundred Acre team but also represents a commitment to excellence that we strive for in each of our bottles."

Jayson Woodbridge: A Journey of Passion and Commitment

Since its inception in 1999, Hundred Acre Wine Group has thrived under Woodbridge's leadership. After a successful career as an investment banker, he ventured into winemaking and purchased the Kayli Morgan Vineyard, established in 1996. His journey began with a collaboration with vineyard manager Jim Barbour, establishing a lasting friendship over two decades rooted in a shared dedication to vineyard health and wine quality.

Woodbridge's commitment has led to more 100-point rated wines than any other winemaker globally. Barbour remains integral to the operation, managing all vineyard holdings, including Few And Far Between and Private Road in Calistoga, alongside Morgan's Way and Ark Vineyard in St. Helena.

Expanding Horizons: New Ventures and Acquisitions

Over the years, Woodbridge has expanded his vineyard portfolio to include the recently released Fortunate Son and Summer Dreams wines. His acquisitions of historic vineyards across Napa Valley and Sonoma preserve the legacies of these multi-generational wineries, including the David Fulton Winery, acquired in 2020, marking a significant addition to the Fortunate Son brand.

In 2022, he purchased an 18-acre vineyard on Larkmead Lane, admired for over 30 years. Additionally, in July 2024, he acquired the Madrigal Winery previously owned by renowned Duckhorn Vineyards.

Most recently, Woodbridge expanded his footprint with the 286-acre Kelly Fleming Winery in Calistoga, adjacent to Few and Far Between vineyard. Now combined, these properties represent a comprehensive 400 acres dedicated to impeccable viticultural standards, symbolizing Woodbridge's vision of growth and quality.

The Legacy of Hundred Acre Wine Group

Jayson Woodbridge’s journey has not only solidified him as a prominent figure in the wine industry but has also made Hundred Acre Wine Group synonymous with quality and excellence. Over the past two decades, he has garnered an impressive 78 perfect scores of 100 points, a testament to his passionate approach to winemaking.
