In September, the Pal System Cooperative Union will hold a unique 'Job Experience' program at its logistics and IT facility in Inagi City, Tokyo. Scheduled for four days on September 5th, 21st, 22nd, and 23rd, the program aims to engage elementary school students and their families by immersing them in the workings of home delivery logistics through fun and educational activities.

Engaging Logistics Learning Experience

Participants can expect an impressive 95% satisfaction rate from previous events, where attendees spent an enjoyable hour discovering the intricacies of home delivery. The experience features real sorting machines used at the Pal System logistics center, along with original videos, panels, and tablets for an interactive learning environment. At the end of the session, families can capture lasting memories with a photo opportunity in front of a life-sized Pal System delivery truck, complete with special gifts for participants. Supported by the Inagi City Board of Education, the program fosters interest in logistics and technology among younger generations.

Pal System plays a vital role in delivering over ten million products each week to about 800,000 households. This event allows participants to explore how advanced logistics sorting equipment and information systems operate to ensure reliable deliveries. This initiative also highlights the importance of understanding modern society’s rapid digital transformation.

With an emphasis on sustainability, the cooperative’s delivery service responds to pre-orders and collects recycled goods during deliveries, contributing to food waste reduction and resource circulation. Since launching the job experience program in 2023, over 2000 individuals have taken part, including students from local primary and secondary schools. Parents have also praised the initiative, stating that it was beneficial for adults as well and sparked their children's interest in food.
