GPN Vaccines to Present at Major International Conferences

This series of presentations will spotlight the company’s innovative approach designed to offer protection against bacterial diseases without the constraints of serotype specificity. This is a significant shift from traditional vaccines that focus solely on specific serotypes, which can become obsolete as new variants arise.

Highlighting Gamma-PN

GPN's flagship candidate, Gamma-PN, is aimed at pneumococcal diseases and is characterized by its ability to target protein antigens that are common across multiple strains of the bacteria. This framework not only promises extensive protection against current serotypes but also against new ones that may emerge in the future. Such an approach could potentially revolutionize the landscape of pneumococcal vaccination.

During the World Vaccine Congress, GPN is expected to unveil findings from four completed clinical studies on Gamma-PN, which underscore its safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity. These studies demonstrated noteworthy responses in older adults, with antibody levels remaining stable for a minimum of 12 months. Further laboratory tests indicated that antibodies generated from the vaccine could effectively neutralize several pneumococcal serotypes, a promising sign as GPN prepares for the next phase—a multinational Phase 2 clinical trial set to begin soon.

Introducing Gamma-SU for Veterinary Applications

In addition to its focus on human health, GPN Vaccines will also highlight its veterinary vaccine candidate, Gamma-SU, designed to combat Streptococcus suis infections, particularly post-weaning meningitis, in pigs. Early research findings indicate that Gamma-SU can stimulate functional antibodies capable of eliminating multiple S. suis serotypes, further validating GPN’s comprehensive vaccine strategy. This is vital as diseases in livestock not only affect animal health but also have broader implications for food security and public health.
