LF Decentralized Trust Celebrates One Year with New Members and Milestones

LF Decentralized Trust Celebrates Milestones and New Memberships

On September 25, 2025, the Linux Foundation Decentralized Trust (LF Decentralized Trust) proudly marks its first anniversary, highlighting significant progress and new member additions. This open-source foundation, dedicated to the advancement of decentralized technology, has welcomed new general members including Etherealize, the Ethereum Foundation, Nethermind, and SOOHO.IO, alongside associate members Blockchain for Energy, Deutsche Bundesbank, and Keri Foundation.

These strategic memberships not only illustrate the vibrant diversity of LF Decentralized Trust’s community but also underline its commitment to supporting cutting-edge technologies and development practices. As LF Decentralized Trust continues to expand, it remains a pivotal player in fostering collaboration in decentralized technologies, crucial in an era characterized by increasing complexity in financial markets.

Hiero Graduation: A Key Milestone

One remarkable achievement within this growing community is the graduation of the Hiero ledger technology project, initially contributed by Hedera. Graduating from LF Decentralized Trust signifies that Hiero has met stringent evaluation criteria set by the Technical Advisory Council, including neutral governance, readiness for production, compliance with security standards, and widespread adoption. This milestone not only reflects the successful development of Hiero but also showcases the transparency and collaborative successes of LF Decentralized Trust's ecosystem.

Innovative Directions: Introducing Minokawa

In tandem with these expansions, LF Decentralized Trust has also announced a new project named Minokawa, which centers around smart contract privacy. Developed by the experts at Shielded Technologies, Minokawa aims to simplify the complexities of zero-knowledge (ZK) technology, creating an accessible smart contract framework for developers. With a native support structure for both private and public states, Minokawa represents a significant advancement in how decentralized applications can prioritize privacy while maintaining functionality.

The Role of Besu in Etherium Ecosystem

The introduction of these new members highlights the growing relevance of Besu, an enterprise-grade Ethereum client that has become instrumental in facilitating both public and permissioned networks. With Besu responsible for a substantial 16% of all execution clients, it plays a crucial role in Ethereum's ecosystem. The Ethereum Foundation’s upgrade to general membership not only underscores its dedication to collaborative development but also emphasizes the increasing importance of technology that supports various decentralized applications.

Diverse Associate Member Contributions

Moreover, the expansion of associate members like Deutsche Bundesbank— the ninth central bank to join— mirrors the diverse applications being applied across LF Decentralized Trust’s projects. It reflects the importance of collaborative efforts in defining standards and practices critical to the development of decentralized networks across different sectors, including public finance, identity solutions, and more.

Daniela Barbosa, the Executive Director of LF Decentralized Trust, emphasized, "Our community is devoted to an open development model that brings together a market around neutral technologies which are rapidly changing financial landscapes, government systems, and overall trust in our individual identities."

As LF Decentralized Trust strides into its second year, the focus is on accelerating innovation through collaboration. The foundational support from its diverse members—spanning industries, backgrounds, and geographical regions—continues to set the stage for significant advancements in decentralized technology. The concerted efforts to create systems characterized by privacy, interoperability, and effective governance will undoubtedly play a pivotal role in shaping not just the future of decentralized applications, but also the broader technological landscape of tomorrow.

This anniversary celebration not only reflects on past achievements but also energizes the community for what lies ahead—an era of adoption, innovation, and comprehensive cooperation in the decentralized realm.
