Promising Uranium Discovery at Dorado Project



IsoEnergy Ltd. and Purepoint Uranium Group Inc. have made a significant breakthrough with their joint venture at the Dorado Project located in Saskatchewan's renowned Athabasca Basin. Following the initial drilling program, the two companies confirm the presence of uranium mineralization at their target site, designated as Q48, which has demonstrated encouraging results.

On July 8, 2025, the companies revealed that the early drilling efforts have yielded radioactive counts as high as 79,800 counts per second (CPS). These results emerged from the first drill holes at the project, establishing the area as a notable uranium-bearing structure, which was a major goal for the exploration team.

The drilling operations executed by Purepoint, who is in charge of the program, revealed mineralization at two significant depths, with drill holes PG25-04 and PG25-05 uncovering a steeply dipping structure rich in uranium, positioned almost directly beneath the unconformity. The findings reflect an active uranium-bearing hydrothermal system, as indicated by the strongly altered basement rocks where this mineralization is hosted.

The two holes recorded notable radioactivity, with PG25-04 averaging a remarkable 11,050 CPS over a 3.7-meter interval and a peak of 74,800 CPS, while PG25-05 achieved an average of 27,750 CPS over 2.3 meters with a maximum of 79,800 CPS.

According to Chris Frostad, President and CEO of Purepoint, these results exemplify the quality of their target area and the effectiveness of their systematic exploration methods. The initial successes have motivated the team to expedite follow-up drilling efforts as they seek to uncover the full potential of the Q48 structure. He stated that this is precisely the kind of beginning they were hoping for and reassured stakeholders of their commitment to a thorough exploration process.

Philip Williams, CEO of IsoEnergy, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the strength of their partnership with Purepoint. He pointed out that their joint venture endeavors are directed towards maximizing the discovery potential of their respective projects. The early success at Q48 shows promising signs for future exploration progress.

The Q48 area was previously flagged as a high-priority target due to historical drilling which suggested potential mineralization through altered basement rocks and weak radioactive measurements. The partnership's 2022 drilling campaign indicated further structural complexities and interactions, enhancing expectations for the current exploration phase. This year, they intend to conduct an ambitious drilling program consisting of approximately 5,400 meters across 18 drilled holes.

Furthermore, ongoing drilling at Q48 aims to track the mineralized structure northeastward along a conductive corridor which has been confirmed as a highly prospective, yet previously underexplored target.

IsoEnergy and Purepoint's joint projects encompass over 98,000 hectares of premium uranium exploration territory. Notably, the Dorado Project integrates several former properties known for their uranium potential. The areas previously exhibited the presence of graphite-bearing rocks and impactful fault structures, which are conducive to uranium deposition, creating a favorable environment for further exploration and potential lucrative findings.

The shallow depths of the unconformity across the Dorado area, typically ranging between 30 to 300 meters, facilitate efficient drilling processes, allowing the team to act quickly on the results they obtain from the site.

Additionally, core samples from current drilling efforts are being sent to the Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC) Geoanalytical Laboratories for detailed geochemical analysis. These laboratory results will provide crucial data on the multi-element suite, thereby improving the understanding of the mineralization present in the Dorado region.

As the exploration campaign progresses, both IsoEnergy and Purepoint remain committed to their shared goal of uncovering high-grade uranium resources within the Athabasca Basin, bolstered by their combined extensive geological knowledge and funding capabilities. The findings from the first drilling program at Dorado mark an exciting start not only for the companies involved but also for future developments in uranium exploration in one of the world’s premiere mining regions.
