The highly anticipated
2nd Ishikawa Traditional Craft Exhibition, showcasing the unique heritage of lacquer art and ceramics, is set to open in Tokyo. Running from
January 29 to February 8, 2026, this exhibition takes place at the
Seiko House Hall, located in the vibrant Ginza district. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience the rich cultural history of Ishikawa Prefecture, renowned for its traditional crafts such as
Wajima Lacquerware and
Kutani Porcelain. This year’s exhibition welcomes a new array of talented artisans from both the lacquer and ceramic fields, presenting a perfect blend of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary sensibilities. The show aims to highlight the ongoing relevance and beauty of these crafts, which have thrived since the Edo period.
Throughout the exhibition, there will be a series of
gallery talks led by exhibiting artists. On
January 31, attendees can engage with
Yukika Shibata and
Saki Mizukuchi at
2:00 PM. Following them, on
February 7,
Kofuku Tada and
Soichiro Nakamuro will hold their session, also at
2:00 PM. Each talk will be moderated by
Yukio Yoshida. This interactive experience allows for direct dialogue between the artists and visitors, fostering a deeper appreciation of their work.
Due to the limited space, please be advised that entry may be restricted during peak times to ensure a comfortable experience for all guests. For any inquiries, the main contact number for Seiko House is
