Mandarin Oriental Tokyo's Pizza Bar on 38th Ranked Second in "50 Top Pizza World 2025"!

Mandarin Oriental Tokyo's Pizza Bar on 38th Achieves Global Recognition

Mandarin Oriental Tokyo has achieved a remarkable feat with its Pizza Bar on 38th being awarded second place in the prestigious "50 Top Pizza World 2025" list, as announced on September 9, 2025 (local Italian time) by the influential pizzeria guide, 50 Top Pizza. This distinguished recognition showcases the dedication and craftsmanship of Executive Chef Daniele Carson and his talented culinary team.

Since its inception, Pizza Bar on 38th has redefined contemporary pizza dining by introducing a unique "omakase" pizza course concept. Guests experience the exceptional quality of freshly baked pizzas delivered directly from the oven to a cozy eight-seat counter, offering an intimate and exceptional dining atmosphere on the 38th floor of the hotel. In this setting, guests can witness the artistry and skill of Chef Daniele Carson and his team up close.

The pizzas served here are made using Italian organic flour, with just one gram of yeast and 80% water, and are aged for 48 hours to achieve a remarkably light and delicate texture. Chef Daniele Carson expressed his gratitude for this prestigious accolade, stating, "This honor is a testament to the passion and commitment of our team, who pay careful attention to every detail. By respecting the seasons and selecting the finest ingredients from both Japan and Italy, we strive to transform each pizza into a masterpiece of skill and hospitality."

David Kolas, General Manager of Mandarin Oriental Tokyo, also shared his pride on this achievement, stating, "It is an honor to receive such international recognition during our 20th anniversary. This accomplishment reflects the talent and dedication of our team, solidifying our status as a premier gastronomic destination in Tokyo."

To commemorate this achievement, Chef Daniele Carson will host a special event on September 25-26, 2025, at the Italian dining restaurant, Keshiki. During this exclusive two-night event, guests can enjoy signature dishes from Pizza Bar on 38th, including appetizers topped with caviar and the acclaimed porcini pizza, in an evening that promises culinary delight.

For those looking for a more private celebration, a "Chef's Table" pizza omakase experience is also available, accommodating up to eight guests. This curated experience includes carefully selected appetizers, pizzas, refined desserts, and an enhanced dining experience with wine pairings.
