Deeteller Inc. Launches Donation Program for Animal Protection Initiatives

Deeteller Inc., headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, led by President Shinsuke Hirose, has embarked on a significant CSR initiative by starting a donation program aimed at supporting organizations dedicated to animal welfare. This undertaking is rooted in the belief that every life is valuable and that action can make a difference in the outcome for countless animals.

The Motivation Behind the Initiative

As a marketing company, some may question the rationale for expanding our efforts into animal welfare. However, the core purpose of any company should not solely revolve around creating economic value or addressing social issues. After eight years of managing the company, I realized that my personal fulfillment could not be attained merely through conventional business success. The awareness of being in a position to help yet turning a blind eye to pressing issues weighed on my conscience heavily.

Statistics reveal that in Japan alone, approximately 9,000 dogs and cats face euthanasia each year. Although the numbers have reportedly decreased over time, it is essential to understand that these are lives that deserve to be saved. Numerous lives can be rescued if we commit to taking action.

Interestingly, beyond those directly engaged in the pet industry, there are few companies that actively participate in animal protection activities or provide donations. Frequently, corporate social responsibility initiatives are predominantly focused on community support or environmental conservation, often seen as a strategic method to enhance corporate value. While these aspects are undoubtedly significant, those of us in a position to protect life must prioritize that duty.

With the hope that this initiative spreads awareness among others in similar positions to contribute to animal welfare, we have initiated our CSR donations to animal protection organizations.

Eligibility and Application Process

To qualify for our donation program, the following criteria must be met by NPOs and volunteer organizations within Japan:
  • - Engaging in activities aimed at saving animal lives or related efforts.
  • - Having a justified need for donations.
  • - Capable of submitting operational reports for the last two years.
  • - Agreeing to have the organization’s name, logo, primary activities (in about 500 words), and relevant images (at least seven) featured on our website.
  • - Allowing for site visits by company representatives.
  • - Able to provide receipts for donation purposes.

Interested parties should reach out via our inquiry form.

Donation Amount

The donation range is set between 100,000 to 500,000 Japanese yen.

Spreading the Word on Animal Protection

Currently, Japan is home to over 2.6 million corporate entities, including various corporations. If each company contributed just 100,000 yen, it would result in a staggering total of 260 billion yen in donations. Considering the annual euthanasia rate for dogs and cats, it’s clear that this financial support could significantly alter their fates.

Corporate efforts to incorporate animal welfare into their CSR strategies can lead us toward a future with zero euthanasia. This is not a distant dream, but a goal that can be achieved during our lifetime. We urge those in a position to impact these lives to seriously consider integrating animal protection into their CSR initiatives. We also encourage individuals who resonate with our mission to share their thoughts on social media, showcasing alternative forms of CSR activities.

In this era, where every voice can be amplified through social channels, we must work collectively to realize the goal of zero euthanasia within our lifetime.
