Midea Building Technologies Unveils Energy-Efficient HVAC Solutions at C&R 2025 in Madrid
Midea Building Technologies Showcases Cutting-Edge HVAC Solutions at C&R 2025
Midea Building Technologies (MBT) revealed its latest energy-efficient HVAC solutions at the C&R 2025 exhibition held in Madrid, strongly underscoring its commitment to sustainability and advanced technology. The event served as a significant platform for MBT, introducing several pioneering products that set new benchmarks in the HVAC industry.
Among the highlights was the introduction of MBT's next-generation VRF R32 system, marking its overseas premiere at C&R 2025. This sophisticated system boasts a fully enclosed IP68 electric control casing and a refrigerant phase-change cooling system, which enhances cooling capacity by 3.5 times compared to conventional models. Its type G heat exchanger can reach a maximum temperature of 310°C while providing an impressive 32% larger heat exchange surface area within the same footprint. With cooling and heating capabilities ranging from 25.2 to 45 kW, this VRF system ensures maximum flexibility and energy savings across various commercial applications.
Additionally, the Mars Large R290 ATW heat pump was selected for the Innovation Gallery, exemplifying an eco-friendly solution that employs R290 refrigerant with minimal global warming potential (GWP) and an almost negligible direct global warming potential (PDO). This heat pump can achieve water temperatures up to 85°C and operates efficiently even in low ambient temperatures. With a compact footprint of just 1.96 m² and heating capacities between 50 and 70 kW, it is well-suited for a range of applications. The design allows for easy access to the panel from all four sides, facilitating maintenance, making it ideal for both residential and commercial sectors.
Another noteworthy product featured was the MagBoost Apex Pro magnetic centrifugal chiller, which also earned a spot in the Innovation Gallery thanks to its advanced design. Utilizing cutting-edge technologies like magnetic bearing control, refrigerant micro-channel cooling variable frequency drives, and series two-stage compression, this chiller operates quietly while delivering high efficiency for a variety of applications. It is particularly appropriate for data centers and large commercial projects, providing sustainable solutions that significantly reduce energy consumption and operating costs.
In addition to these highlight products, MBT presented a diverse lineup ranging from residential comfort solutions to lightweight commercial systems, including robust industrial units. The EasyFit VRF system and Quantum series offer high installation flexibility for commercial spaces. Furthermore, MBT introduced a high-temperature magnetic water vapor compressor that generates steam at 150 to 200°C, serving as an ideal alternative to steam boilers for industrial applications. The AquaThermal Max Inverter Air-Cooled Scroll heat pump, utilizing R32 refrigerant, boasts easy maintenance and eco-friendly features, positioning it suitably for commercial and industrial uses.
All these solutions are distinguished by their energy efficiency, simplified installation, and intelligent integration, making them applicable for various building needs. MBT further solidified its position as a leader in energy efficiency with its integrated smart energy solution, iEasyEnergy. This innovative solution streamlines installation and promotes intelligent connectivity, optimizing energy utilization across solar systems, storage, and heat pumps. It enhances comfort and efficiency in residences while ensuring energy autonomy, safety, and cost savings.
The innovative solutions from MBT have left a significant impact across Europe. Their HVAC systems and intelligent management strategies have transformed the sustainable living complex project at the University of Malta into a “dynamic laboratory” for research. For instance, in the Mercedes-Benz showroom in Estonia, eight outdoor units of the Mars Large R290 heat pump provide stable, efficient, and low-carbon heating and hot water year-round. Similarly, in the headquarters of the city hall in Spain, MBT's HVAC solution optimizes climate control, improves temperature regulation and air quality, while achieving substantial energy savings.
Overall, MBT demonstrated its commitment to sustainability and innovation at the C&R exhibition by showcasing solutions that promote energy efficiency and smart building technologies suited for the future.
