Nulab's Innovative AI Tools for Team Management

In a significant advancement for project and task management, Nulab, based in Fukuoka, Japan, has unveiled new AI functionalities in their popular tool, Backlog. This update includes the launch of the AI Backlog Sweeper, designed to automatically extract and create tasks from meeting notes. Starting November 14, 2025, this feature aims to seamlessly integrate into the Backlog tool to enhance team collaboration and ensure nothing slips through the cracks post-meeting.

The AI Backlog Sweeper is the result of a collaborative effort with ABEJA, a Tokyo-based company specializing in AI technologies. This tool mitigates the common pitfalls of task management, such as missed follow-ups and communication gaps, supporting teams right from the project's initiation phase. Currently, it supports integration with Google Meet, with plans to include Microsoft Teams in the near future.

Nulab is not stopping there; they are also working on the Backlog AI Assistant, which is set to be released to premium and platinum plan users in early 2026. This assistant will facilitate cross-referencing issues, wikis, and documents on Backlog, aiding users in organizing information and generating reports via a chat-based interface. This innovative solution has evolved based on feedback from a beta version released in June 2025.
