Starting November 4, 2025, the cafe will offer its Mocha Blend in special cups designed by Ethiopian artist Wakene Bez Kassa.

The Mocha Blend and Its Importance

The Mocha Blend serves as more than just a coffee; it embodies the spirit of Ethiopia. It consists of 100% high-grade beans, with 60% sourced from the Yirgacheffe region. However, Ethiopia's coffee production faces severe challenges, including climate change, diseases, and economic difficulties. Recognizing these issues, Famima Café initiated a campaign last year to support Ethiopian communities, focusing on educational improvements for local children. This latest cup design aims to further raise awareness and appreciation for Ethiopian arts and culture among its customers in Japan.

The unique cup design vividly represents the Ethiopian coffee ceremony, 'Kariomon,' showcasing the warmth and hospitality inherent in Ethiopian culture. Launch and Contributions to Ethiopian Education

The special cups will be available at approximately 16,000 Famima Café locations nationwide (excluding Okinawa), starting November 4, 2025. For every cup of Mocha Blend purchased, 1 yen will be donated to the improvement of educational environments for Ethiopian children. This campaign is part of a larger initiative that runs from October 14 to December 15, 2025.

Further Support through Famipay

Additionally, between October 9 and November 30, 2025, customers who use Famipay during their transactions will contribute to planting trees in Ethiopia, as part of an eco-friendly initiative.
