Vibram Japan Partners with Trail Runner Tamami Arai
Vibram Japan, the Japanese branch of the renowned Italian sole manufacturer, officially announced a sponsorship agreement with trail runner
Tamami Arai set to commence on
March 19, 2026. Known for its high-performance rubber soles, Vibram aims to strengthen its presence in the sport of trail running, adding to its roster of sponsored athletes that already includes climber
Ai Matsufuji, contracted earlier this year.
Since 2011, Vibram has supported outdoor athletes across various disciplines like trail running and climbing through its global community known as
TEAM VIBRAM. The agreement with Arai marks a significant milestone as she becomes the first female trail runner from Japan to be sponsored by the brand. This collaboration exemplifies Vibram's continued dedication to fostering athletic talent within the country.
Tamami Arai's Athletic Gear
Tamami Arai primarily uses the
TIMP series of trail running shoes by ALTRA, which feature Vibram's advanced
MegaGrip technology. This high-quality rubber compound is designed to provide exceptional grip and durability, whether on dry or wet terrain—making it ideal for trail running’s often unpredictable conditions.
MegaGrip is versatile, supporting a wide range of outdoor activities, from trekking and hiking to mountain biking. With its robust design, it ensures stability and confidence underfoot, essential for athletes navigating challenging landscapes like those found in trail running.
