GAC Unveils the AION UT: A New Era of Electric Vehicles in Europe
In a significant move for the automotive industry, GAC has unveiled its latest electric hatchback, the AION UT, at an event in Milan, the design capital of Europe. This model represents the second addition to GAC's fully electric AION product line, following the previously launched AION V SUV. The AION UT, designed in collaboration with GAC's Advanced Design Centre in Milan, is poised to make a splash in several European markets, including Finland, Greece, Poland, and Portugal this quarter, with further expansion anticipated in the third quarter.
A Blend of Modern Design and Cutting-Edge Technology
The AION UT is not just another electric vehicle; it combines a contemporary aesthetic with a spacious interior and advanced technology aimed at enhancing user experience and safety. Sporting a wheelbase of 2750 mm, the interior of the AION UT offers comfort comparable to mid-range sedans. Central to its advanced tech features is a dual-screen infotainment system that includes a 14.6-inch touchscreen and an 8.88-inch digital instrument cluster. Emphasizing safety, the AION UT meets stringent safety standards, equipped with a double door ring, V-shaped side curtain airbags, and Level 2 driver assistance technology.
With a notable range of up to 430 kilometers (WLTP), the AION UT allows users to recharge from 30 to 80% in just 24 minutes using fast DC charging. It boasts a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of 7.3 seconds, making it not only practical but also exciting to drive. The AION UT will be offered in two trim levels: Premium and Luxury, catering to diverse consumer preferences.
Manufacturing Shift to Europe
Continuing its strategic initiative, GAC has chosen to manufacture the AION UT at the Magna plant in Graz, Austria. This is a significant step for GAC, marking a shift from vehicle export towards localized production in Europe.
