Blood Cancer United®, the organization previously known as The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, has taken significant steps forward by welcoming four prominent figures to its Board of Directors. This change, effective immediately, is poised to enhance the organization’s mission to combat blood cancer while improving the living standards of patients and their families.

New Board Members Join the Ranks

The newly appointed board members bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to support Blood Cancer United in its ongoing fight against blood cancer. The new members include:

• - Charles Arnold - A retired partner at KPMG, Arnold holds over three decades of experience, particularly in AI, management consulting, and organizational design. He has served in various leadership capacities and is a passionate advocate for the organization after supporting it in honor of his late wife.
• - Paul Fonteyne - With a career spanning more than 30 years in the pharmaceutical sector, Fonteyne previously served as Chairman and CEO of Boehringer-Ingelheim USA. His extensive experience on various boards is expected to drive strategic advancements.
• - Marc Harrison, M.D. - A physician executive and a two-time cancer survivor, Dr. Harrison has made significant contributions in transforming healthcare delivery. He has held prominent positions at organizations like Intermountain Healthcare and the Cleveland Clinic.
• - Jeff Shaw - The former CEO of Bridge Commercial Real Estate, Shaw has impacted the commercial real estate sector significantly. His philanthropic efforts have also been vital to Blood Cancer United’s local initiatives.

In addition to the new board members, Blood Cancer United proudly welcomes Jamal K. Muashsher, President and CEO of Valvoline Global Operations, to its National Philanthropy Committee. This non-governing committee is designed to enhance corporate and individual philanthropy initiatives, furthering the organization’s revenue generation efforts. Notably, Muashsher drove Valvoline’s commitment to a five-year partnership with Blood Cancer United, focusing on pediatric blood cancer initiatives.
