ITEC Launches IT Passport Training Service for Non-IT Companies
On July 1st, ITEC, a subsidiary of the Forval Group based in Tokyo, officially launched its IT Passport training service specially designed for non-IT companies. This move comes as a response to a significant rise in IT exam applications, emphasized by the Information Processing Promotion Agency (IPA). The current trend sees more and more non-IT firms recognizing the need for IT proficiency among their employees, with the number of applicants from such companies soaring ahead of others.
Meeting Growing Demand
According to recent IPA reports, the forecast for the annual number of IT Passport exam applicants in the 2024 fiscal year is expected to exceed 300,000 for the first time. Among these, over 185,000 applicants belong to non-IT companies, showcasing the urgent demand for IT training and literacy in various sectors that previously relied less on technology.
ITEC’s new IT Passport training service is designed to cater specifically to the diverse needs of employees from non-IT backgrounds. Traditional methods often offer bulk packages of learning through e-learning without recognizing individual differences in purpose, knowledge, and learning styles. ITEC addresses this gap by providing a tailored approach that combines different educational tools such as correspondence courses, training sessions, textbooks, and mock examinations, all tailored to enhance the learning efficiency of employees from non-IT firms.
Dual Approach: Exam Preparation and Literacy Enhancement
One of the key features of ITEC’s training service is its dual focus on both exam preparation and enhancing digital literacy. Organizations that consider obtaining IT Passports as part of their staff development strategy often encounter challenges in setting clear learning goals. However, ITEC draws on its over 40 years of experience to offer a comprehensive curriculum that addresses both objectives effectively.
Customizable Learning Methods
ITEC provides four distinct learning methods tailored to the expertise and learning phases of non-IT employees: correspondence education, training sessions, textbooks, and a collection of past examination questions and mock tests. Furthermore, ITEC offers customizable recommendations based on real corporate use cases, ensuring that educational solutions align with each company’s goals and budgets.
A Gateway to Advanced Qualifications
The learning journey does not end with the IT Passport. ITEC emphasizes that acquiring this foundational certification is just the beginning. The ultimate aim is to boost employees' IT and digital literacy in support of broader digital transformation (DX) initiatives within organizations. ITEC also offers guidance towards advanced qualifications in information processing and digital skills standards, as well as workshops on generative AI, paving the way for further professional development.
Exciting Launch Campaign
To mark the launch of the IT Passport training service, ITEC is running a promotional campaign. For the first five companies that purchase correspondence education for over 50 employees, ITEC will offer a complimentary kickoff session. This session aims to motivate participants and provide insights on effective learning strategies. Additionally, the first ten new contract companies will receive free homework emails, creating a supportive environment for learning.
