Ten Fields Factory Continues Free EV Charging Service After Kumamoto Earthquake

Continued Support for Earthquake-Affected Areas

In light of the recent Kumamoto earthquake that occurred on July 28, 2026, Ten Fields Factory Co., Ltd., headquartered in Seika-cho, Kyoto, has decided to continue offering free access to its FLASH EV quick chargers located at five sites in Kumamoto Prefecture. This initiative aims to support those impacted by the earthquake and assist with their mobility needs during this uncertain time.

Since the earthquake struck, our thoughts have been with those who have faced hardships. Understanding the challenges that residents are currently experiencing, Ten Fields Factory initiated free access to these charging stations at 9 PM on the day of the disaster. With many individuals needing to travel for essential tasks such as relocation, rebuilding lives, and participating in recovery efforts, the decision to maintain this free service remains crucial.

Importance of EVs During Emergencies

Electric vehicles (EVs) are valuable not just for transportation but also in disaster situations, as they can serve as power sources when equipped with Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) technology. This allows residents to draw electricity from their EVs to power homes during outages.

It’s important to note that this free access is not aimed at promoting EV charging services but rather to assist in the immediate needs of those affected—their movements, the restoration of their lives, and the provision of emergency power whenever necessary.

Ten Fields Factory commits to assessing the situation and will continue this service for as long as required by the community. We also appreciate the understanding and cooperation of local partners involved in providing these locations.

Conclusion

We sincerely hope that all those affected can return to normalcy quickly. As a company, our priority is to support the affected individuals and recovery teams as they navigate this challenging situation.
