2026 Teledentistry Innovation Awards: Recognizing Healthcare Integration and Access

Nominations Open for the 2026 Teledentistry Innovation Awards

MouthWatch, Inc. and Dentistry. One, LLC are excited to announce that nominations for the 2026 Teledentistry Innovation Awards are officially open. These prestigious awards, affectionately known as 'the Tellies,' celebrate visionary contributions in the realm of teledentistry, particularly emphasizing the integration of oral healthcare within broader medical practices.

With the introduction of a new category titled Medical-Dental Innovator, this year's event aims to highlight a growing trend in healthcare that seeks to dissolve the barriers between dental and medical services. This initiative acknowledges that oral health plays a crucial role in overall health, interconnected with over 60 systemic conditions, including diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. Historically, these health aspects have been treated in isolation; however, with evolving research and practices, there is a strong push toward a holistic approach that intertwines oral health with general health management.

Brant Herman, Co-Founder and CEO of MouthWatch and Dentistry. One, mentioned, "When we initiated the Tellies nine years ago, teledentistry was still emerging. Today, it’s a crucial aspect of modern healthcare delivery, and the awards have evolved alongside it. We aim to honor those innovators who are bridging the gaps in health access and outcomes, fostering a more integrated model of care."

The Tellies encompass six distinct categories, recognizing innovation across various sectors of dental and medical integration:
1. Dentist/Specialist Innovator: For general practitioners and specialists enhancing clinical workflows or improving patient experiences through teledentistry.
2. Dental Hygiene Innovator: Acknowledges hygienists who expand access to preventive care and strengthen patient relationships using virtual platforms.
3. Oral Health Program Innovator: Recognizes public health initiatives and community programs transforming access and care coordination through teledentistry.
4. Educational Institution Innovator: Honors dental and hygiene schools embedding teledentistry into curricula to prepare future healthcare providers.
5. Industry Innovator: For individuals or entities advancing the dental sector using new technologies and systems centered on teledentistry.
6. Medical-Dental Innovator: Celebrates those who are bridging the dental-medical divide, enhancing health outcomes through virtual care.

Winners of these awards will not only receive national recognition and a $1,000 grant to further their work in oral health transformation, but they will also be honored at the Tellie Awards ceremony during the Greater New York Dental Meeting.

Nominations, which are open until October 15, 2026, can be submitted through the official Tellie Awards website. The celebrated winners will be revealed during the meeting scheduled from November 27 to December 1, 2026.
