Karimoku Furniture at WOOD Collection 2026
Karimoku Furniture Co., Ltd. (Headquartered in Toyohashi, Aichi Prefecture, President: Masatoshi Kato), is excited to announce its participation in the WOOD Collection (Moku Collection) 2026, which will be held at Tokyo Big Sight starting on February 12, 2026. The company will showcase a range of products made from domestically sourced wood, emphasizing its commitment to sustainable forest practices.
The foundation of Karimoku's philosophy lies in utilizing Japanese wood to promote a circular and sustainable ecosystem in furniture manufacturing. With three production facilities across the country, they source about 70 different types of timber from 25 prefectures nationwide, collaborating closely with local producers to enhance their environmental efforts. At this exhibition, Karimoku plans to display previously untapped hardwoods, such as bent small-diameter logs and oak decay wood, illustrating the innovative use of these materials. Additionally, they will spotlight examples of using softwoods like cedar and cypress, shedding light on the versatility of Japanese timber.
This year's WOOD Collection aims to underline Karimoku's dedication to creating sustainable living spaces and its collaborative approach with timber producers. Through these efforts, the company not only provides high-quality wooden furniture but also contributes to the preservation and regeneration of forests in Japan.
