Japanese Fashion Brand Kay me Opens First Popup Store in Hong Kong

Kay me's Hong Kong Popup Store: A New Chapter in Fashion

Japanese fashion brand kay me has made its mark by introducing a unique concept of "problem-solving fashion," and now, it is taking a significant step in global expansion with its very first popup store in Hong Kong, located at the SOGO Causeway Bay store. Founded in Ginza, Tokyo, kay me embodies comfort and sophistication by utilizing high-performance materials that offer stretchability, wrinkle resistance, and machine washability. The brand specializes in dresses and suits that blend comfort with an elegant appearance, perfectly catering to the needs of busy professional women.

Currently operating five stores within Japan and ramping up its online presence, kay me has garnered considerable support from women in demanding professions such as finance, consulting, healthcare, and law. The opening of the popup store in Hong Kong follows the successful launch of a store in Takashimaya, Singapore, in December 2024, marking a crucial milestone in its global growth within the Asia-Pacific region.

Kay me's Commitment to Value of Time

Research indicates that women spend an average of significant time on fashion-related tasks: approximately 360 hours on dry cleaning and ironing, 288 hours on daily outfit selection, and 240 hours on shopping for clothing. These figures highlight the burdens many women face in their daily lives.

kay me was founded on the mission to alleviate such daily burdens, enabling women to dedicate their time to what truly matters. By providing easy-care, wrinkle-free, and versatile styles, kay me actively supports women around the world who are rising to the challenges of modern life.

Resonating with Hong Kong's Working Women

The increasing presence of women in the workforce across Asia has accelerated in recent years, with Hong Kong emerging as a hub for professional women in sectors such as finance, law, and healthcare. In particular, Hong Kong promotes a culture that values efficiency, as seen in the local emphasis on tire performance (タイパ) and cost performance (5コスパ). Kay me addresses these values with its time-saving features of machine-washable, wrinkle-resistant clothing that maintains a polished look, aligning seamlessly with the needs of working women in the city.

Bearing witness to this synergy, Junko Kamei, the CEO and lead designer of kay me, expressed: "Hong Kong is a city where energetic and ambitious women demand both functionality and style. I am excited to meet many women here and share our vision and products."
