Real-World Range Validation: Farizon SV Sets New Standards in Commercial EV Performance

Introduction

As new energy commercial vehicles gain traction, the need for real-world performance validation over mere paper specifications has become paramount. The Farizon SV has recently completed extensive testing, showcasing its capabilities under challenging conditions, and setting a new benchmark in the industry.

Real-World Testing Initiatives

The Farizon SV underwent two significant tests: a five-day cross-country endurance challenge in the UK and a high-altitude loop test along the Qinghai-Gansu route in China. These tests highlighted the vehicle’s performance in drastically different environments — from the wet, unpredictable weather of Europe to the extreme altitudes and variable temperatures of the Tibetan Plateau.

UK Endurance Challenge

In early September, the Farizon SV participated in the GREENFLEET Explorer EV Rally, one of the world’s most demanding electric vehicle endurance tests. Spanning five days, the rally covered 1,043 miles through varied landscapes, including highways and rural roads across Cornwall, Devon, and reaching all the way to Knutsford in Cheshire.

Utilizing real-world conditions, including unpredictable weather patterns and varying road conditions, some SV variants surpassed the certified WLTP figures, with one model achieving 92.5% of its advertised range. The model equipped with a 106 kWh battery notably reached an efficiency of 2,402 miles/kWh, exceeding its WLTP rating by 9.7% even while hauling heavy equipment and maintaining a refrigerator.

High-Altitude Testing in China

At approximately the same time, another Farizon SV tackled a demanding endurance test in the high-altitude area of Qinghai-Gansu in China. Covering 462 km (287 miles) from Lanzhou to Zhagana, the course involved over 300 km of rugged national roads and significant altitude changes, peaking at 4,500 meters, all while battling low temperatures. During this challenge, the SV maintained a cabin temperature of 26°C while loaded to capacity with three occupants and 368 kg of luggage. It performed exceptionally, achieving 82.5% of the advertised range, thus proving its reliability under extreme conditions.

Comparative Performance Insights

Model Distance Recorded Efficiency Achieved Combined WLTP Yield WLTP Threshold Surpassed
-----------------------
L1H1 83 kWh 1,031 miles 2,365 miles/kWh 2.55 miles/kWh 7.25% below
L2H2 83 kWh 1,093 miles 2,335 miles/kWh 2.30 miles/kWh 1.52% above
L3H3 106 kWh 1,004 miles 2,402 miles/kWh 2.19 miles/kWh 9.68% above

The performance details from these tests demonstrate that the Farizon SV not only meets but exceeds the demanding standards set forth in both domestic and international settings. It showcases versatility in handling different topographies and weather conditions without a loss in performance or reliability.

Conclusion

The dual testing scenarios of the Farizon SV signify unparalleled validation in the electric commercial vehicle arena. From the winding, wet roads of the UK to the harsh, elevated terrains of the Qinghai-Gansu plateau, the SV proves it is well-equipped to face varied conditions head-on while maintaining efficient performance. With three core technologies backing its impressive range, the Farizon SV emerges as a dependable choice for businesses aiming to transition towards electrification in their logistics operations, ready to meet the demands of any commercial journey ahead.
