The James of Irvine: A New Era in Luxurious Senior Living Coming to Orange County
The James of Irvine: Redefining Luxury Senior Living in Orange County
The James of Irvine is scheduled to open its doors in the summer of 2027, becoming the first luxury senior living community in Orange County. This eight-story establishment aims to transform the retirement experience, offering a blend of upscale amenities and a dynamic lifestyle catering to baby boomers. With its prime location and modern designs, The James promises not just a residence, but a comprehensive living experience.
One of the key offerings of The James will be its 350 rental units, which will include studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom layouts. These are designed for independent living, assisted living, and memory care, all with private and contemporary interiors. Owned by the not-for-profit P3 Foundation, this senior living community represents a significant investment in quality care and accommodation for older adults. It will be developed by Harbert South Bay Partners and managed by Momentum Senior Living.
Kimberly Wyatt, the executive director and general counsel of P3, emphasized the organization’s dedication to providing quality housing for seniors. After an extensive search for the perfect project, The James was identified as an ideal opportunity to fulfill their mission of supporting aging individuals with dignity and care.
With a focus on wellness, connectivity, and joy, The James will redesign the concept of retirement living. Future residents can look forward to a range of amenities, such as multiple dining options, inviting lounge areas, an indoor pool, a wellness gym, a yoga studio, therapy rooms, and even a salon. The community will also include two theaters, a media lounge, an art studio, a golf simulator, and an outdoor dog park equipped with a wash station.
Outdoor spaces will truly enhance the lifestyle at The James, featuring courtyards with barbecues, fire pits, gardens, and recreational facilities including a putting green and bocce ball court. Programming will encompass entertainment, spiritual enrichment, and educational workshops, including sessions aimed at improving digital skills. All meals will be prepared by a skilled chef, ensuring fresh, nutritious dining experiences in welcoming environments.
As the population of seniors aged 65 and above in Orange County is projected to rise significantly, The James responds to this increasing demand for high-quality senior housing. Josh Johnson, CEO of Momentum Senior Living, noted that Southern California is witnessing a shift towards elevated standards for senior living, and The James is poised to become a benchmark in this evolving landscape.
A critical feature of The James will be its seamless transition among various types of living arrangements—independent living, assisted living, and memory care.
