SANY Heavy Truck Unveils Electric Trucks at IAA Transportation 2026
SANY Heavy Truck, alongside its subsidiary Putzmeister, made a significant debut at the IAA Transportation 2026 in Hanover, presenting their exciting new line of electric trucks under the prominent theme "Here to Stay." This event marked a pivotal moment for SANY as they introduced their all-electric model, the SE636, ready for mass production and designed specifically for the European transport market.
Key Features of the SE636
The SANY SE636 is constructed on a robust 4x2 chassis and is equipped with a state-of-the-art 636 kWh battery, providing an impressive range of up to 500 kilometers. This heavy-duty truck has a total weight of 10.9 tons and has successfully received European Whole Vehicle Type Approval (EU WVTA), making it one of the first Chinese-manufactured electric trucks to achieve this certification. Currently, the SE636 is already operational across Germany, Turkey, and other European nations.
During a press briefing at the event, Kevin Eichele, overseeing product development and electric vehicle operations at SANY-Putzmeister, stated that the company is committed to a long-term strategy in Europe, focusing on vehicles that are commercially available and fully compliant with European regulations. The vision is to integrate proven technologies with local market needs for a sustainable future.
Hands-on Experience with Electric Vehicles
To enhance engagement, SANY established a two-kilometer test track at the exhibition site, inviting fleet operators, logistics professionals, and industry representatives from Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, and other regions to experience the trucks firsthand. Participants praised the vehicle's smooth acceleration, efficient energy recovery systems, and the remarkably low noise levels inside the cabin—features that highlight SANY's commitment to innovation and quality in electric mobility.
As of now, SANY has over 70,000 electric trucks in operation worldwide. Since beginning its operational activities in Europe in 2022, the company has deployed electric vehicles across 15 European markets, accumulating over 20 million kilometers in total travel. This vast experience in different operating conditions signifies a deep understanding of the electric vehicle domain, ensuring reliability and efficiency.
Building a Strong Service Network
SANY has also put in place a comprehensive pan-European after-sales service network to support fleet operations and ensure uninterrupted service. Collaborating with local service partners, SANY offers access to approximately 650 workshops for inspections, diagnostics, and repairs, coupled with a 24/7 roadside assistance plan. Additionally, SANY’s European service teams provide technical support for more complex issues, contributing to a seamless customer experience.
The debut of SANY at the IAA Transportation is just a part of their ongoing commitment to Europe, merging production-ready technology with real-world operating experience and robust service backing. In the wake of the accelerating electrification of transport, SANY aims to further establish its footprint in Europe, focusing on practical and scalable zero-emission solutions that enhance the efficiency and sustainability of commercial transportation.
This announcement not only underscores SANY's serious commitment to the electric truck market but also illustrates their determination to be a significant player in the European transportation landscape as it pivots towards greener practices.
