Recently, Hithium's manufacturing plant in Texas has achieved significant milestones by reaching mass production and delivery capabilities. This achievement marks a crucial step in integrating advanced robotics and logistics into the manufacturing process, showcasing a startling move towards an Industry 4.0 compliant facility. Guozi Robotics has played an instrumental role in this development by providing a comprehensive integrated production scenario alongside sophisticated logistical handling solutions.
The new facility, which encompasses approximately 44,600 square meters, symbolizes a robust investment of nearly $200 million. It aims to achieve an impressive annual production capacity of 10 GWh for battery modules and systems. This operation not only enhances production efficiency but also aligns with modern automation and digitalization trends prevalent in today’s manufacturing landscape.
Supply Chain Automation with Intelligent Robotics
A notable feature of the partnership is the introduction of intelligent logistical robots designed by Guozi Robotics. The plant is now home to over a hundred advanced robots, including retractable mast AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles), mini-stackers, chassis-lifting robots, and heavy-load transport robots. Each of these robots has been equipped to significantly expedite and streamline the production process, from material distribution on production lines to heavy-duty transportation tasks within the facility.
For instance, the retractable mast AGV can lift loads up to 1.2 tons and reach heights of 7 meters, maintaining an impressive positioning accuracy of ±10 mm. Such precision ensures that automated systems can effectively communicate with material carts and production machinery, facilitating smooth material handling along the assembly line while enhancing productivity.
