GAC INPOW Launches Revolutionary Energy Storage Technology at Intersolar Europe 2026

GAC INPOW's Landmark Unveiling at Intersolar Europe 2026

On June 24, 2026, during the celebrated Intersolar Europe conference, INPOW Battery, a subsidiary wholly owned by GAC Group, made waves by unveiling the world’s first mass-produced 587-Ah Semi-Solid-State energy storage cell. This innovative cell promises to bring a transformative shift in the energy storage landscape, combining cutting-edge safety features with impressive efficiency suitable for commercial applications.

Innovations in Battery Technology

The new 587-Ah Semi-Solid-State cell was developed to merge the inherent safety attributes of solid-state battery technology with the scalability and cost-effectiveness essential for widespread use. Utilising an in-house developed polymer composite electrolyte system, this cell minimizes free electrolyte content to under 0.01%, significantly enhancing safety without hindering mass production capabilities. It stands as the cell with the highest capacity globally, closely approaching the safety profile of fully solid-state batteries.

Rigorous Safety Testing

To validate its safety, the 587-Ah cell underwent rigorous stress tests, successfully enduring conditions such as pressure tenfold above national safety standards, complete cell perforation, exposure to a scorching 200°C for an hour, and direct flames exceeding 1000°C—without igniting or exploding. Such performance underscores Inpow's commitment to delivering reliable energy solutions.

The Comprehensive Energy Storage Solution

Building on the 587-Ah platform, INPOW also introduced a liquid-cooled energy storage solution designed for large-scale applications, boasting a capacity of 6.25 MWh. This system is engineered for the seamless integration of renewable energy sources, grid balancing, and long-term energy storage. It includes a three-layer safety protection system, AI-driven predictive diagnostics, and a cloud-based monitoring platform that can identify potential risks up to 20 days in advance, issuing thermal runaway warnings up to 24 hours before a potential failure.

Commitment to the European Market

In line with its European localisation strategy, INPOW announced plans to establish a sales and technical service centre in Europe by October 2026. This hub will provide European clients with local technical support, customer service, spare parts supply, and project development assistance. As noted by XU Junhai, Managing Director of INPOW Battery, “Europe is a strategic market for the global energy storage industry and the starting point for INPOW's international expansion.” The company is dedicated to offering safety standards akin to automotive quality and advanced battery technologies to its European partners.

Backed by Automotive Expertise

Leveraging the manufacturing prowess of the GAC Group, INPOW integrates automotive-quality battery technology, intelligent manufacturing, and comprehensive energy management capabilities to deliver safe, reliable, and sustainable energy storage solutions worldwide.

Interested stakeholders and industry participants can visit INPOW at Intersolar Europe 2026, located at Hall C3, Stand C3.350, from June 23 to 25, 2026. This event marks a significant milestone for INPOW and illustrates the company's commitment to revolutionizing the energy storage landscape across Europe and beyond.
