Empowering Japanese Youth: Global Innovator Academy 2026 Enrollment Opens
In a bid to cultivate innovative youth capable of making an impact globally, the non-profit organization, Educational Sphere, based in Meguro, Tokyo, has kicked off the enrollment for the 2026 Global Innovator Academy (GIA). The Academy focuses on instilling a spirit of challenge in teenagers from across Japan, operating under the motto, "Creating moments of joy through education for all children."
This year marks a significant expansion of the program, with the introduction of an "Entry Class" to allow participants to engage based on their current skill levels effectively. About Global Innovator Academy
The Global Innovator Academy is designed to develop teenagers who can thrive on a global stage, offering a six-month hands-on training program. Targeting themes such as science and technology, social issues, and global collaboration, GIA gathers aspiring high school students to tackle various projects, including competing in the world’s largest U18 STEM Olympics, the FIRST Global Challenge (FGC). Past participants have successfully progressed to prestigious institutions like the University of Tokyo, Keio University, and Georgia Tech, showcasing their skills on international platforms.
Key Changes for 2026

Expanded Robotics Course: The robotics course will now have a two-class structure. This includes:

Entry Class (New): Aimed at beginners, this class utilizes the FTC starter kit to introduce participants gradually to robotics through foundational programs and advanced competitive design strategies. It welcomes students from fifth grade through high school, who can participate online from anywhere in Japan.

National Team (Japan Representative Class, New): This class is specifically designed for those aiming to represent Japan at the FGC, invited on an offer basis without open applications.
Three Course Options Available

Robotics Course: A program that nurtures future engineers through hands-on experience in robotics competitions, enhancing technical skills, strategic thinking, and teamwork.
