Unique Short Story Event 'Tsuzuku ni Tsuzuke' Promotes Sustainable Returnable Bottle Culture

Discover Unique Tales with Every Sip!

Starting from October 27, 2025, the Japan Glass Bottle Association will host a creative initiative named 'Tsuzuku ni Tsuzuke' in collaboration with Hitomairu Co., Ltd. This project is part of the SO BLUE ACTION, aimed at re-exploring and redefining the value of returnable bottles and bottle reuse.

Hitomairu, formerly known as the Kakyasu Group, is known for its vast distribution network throughout Tokyo and neighboring prefectures, efficiently delivering beverages and food. Partnering with its subsidiary Kakyasu—a leading alcohol distribution and delivery business—this event seeks to enhance community engagement while promoting sustainability.

How It Works

Participants can purchase drinks contained in returnable bottles at various restaurants and bathhouses across Tokyo. In return, they'll receive a unique short story written by a range of artists such as writers, actors, and comedians. Each bottle’s journey is creatively illustrated in these stories, showcasing how a single bottle transforms and circulates through time and space.

The Importance of This Initiative

Kakyasu’s logistics capabilities allow for a 2-way service, where beverages can be delivered and returned efficiently. This service is vital for enhancing the accessibility and awareness of returnable products, promoting sustainable practices within the community.

As part of this event, the collaboration emphasizes resource circulation and supports local businesses by delivering returnable bottle beverages while ensuring the collection of empty containers. Engaging with 'Tsuzuku ni Tsuzuke' means not just enjoying a drink but participating in a larger narrative aimed at creating a sustainable future.
