Concept Behind the Merchandise
Sho Miyake’s films capture not only the breath of the city but also the gentle fluctuations of light and the temperature of the seasons. This new merchandise is designed based on the landscapes vividly portrayed in his works. Each item aims to allow fans to physically engage with the settings depicted in the film, blending art with everyday utility.
Miyake commented on this new venture:
“It’s unexpected and exciting to see new merchandise come to fruition seven years after the theatrical release. The location shots of Hakodate, which we refer to as 'backnight scenery', offer a different perspective compared to the popular tourist spots on Mount Hakodate. Looking back, it feels significant to capture the city from this vantage point for the film. I encourage everyone to explore novels by Yasushi Sato and experience all that Hakodate has to offer!”
— Sho Miyake, Filmmaker
