Mapa Broker's Innovative Leap at Harvard
On October 9 and 10, 2025, Mapa Broker (@mapabroker) made a significant impact at the World Leaders Congress held at Harvard University. Co-founder Erika Rodríguez took the stage to give a transformative talk titled "The Business of Second Chances: Car Auctions", shedding light on the automotive industry and the potential for reinvention in business and life.
In her speech, Erika articulated a compelling analogy between the cars that enter auctions and the second chances available to individuals in life. She emphasized the vision of Mapa, which has empowered thousands of Latinos across the United States to understand, engage, and thrive within the auto auction business. Erika asserted, "Just as cars have a second chance at auctions, people also possess the power and right to reinvent themselves."
A notable highlight of the event was Mapa Broker's announcement as Copart's first Latino partner, marking a groundbreaking collaboration with the largest auto auction firm in the United States. This partnership aims to develop a revolutionary app, the Mapa App, designed to enhance access to the auction market for the Hispanic community.
During the presentation, the team showcased an interactive landing page featuring the visual prototype of the app, which is set to launch in December 2025. This initial version will integrate artificial intelligence, developed by Mapa, to provide real-time, clear information in Spanish about vehicles available at Copart. Additionally, the app will offer personalized assistance from Mapa representatives, enabling anyone—regardless of dealer status or licenses—to participate and purchase directly from auctions.
The second version of the app is slated for release in May 2026, promising advanced features such as a cost calculator, a digital wallet, and the capability to place bids directly through the app, cementing a comprehensive, transparent, and accessible auction experience.
Mapa's participation at Harvard symbolizes not just a corporate achievement but also a significant step forward in its mission to democratize the auto auction landscape and create greater opportunities for the Latino community in the U.S. Erika Rodríguez stated, "Coming to the prestigious Harvard University with a project born from scratch—built with dedication, purpose, and community—is proof that dreams are not just bought; they are constructed through effort, perseverance, and faith."
With this advancement, Mapa Broker reaffirms its commitment to innovation, education, and digital inclusion within the automotive sector. The collaboration with Copart exemplifies how technology, community, and second opportunities can foster growth for the Latino demographic.
