Chiba Prefecture Partners with Glico on Culinary Project to Promote Local Ingredients

Chiba and Glico Culinary Partnership

Chiba Prefecture and Ezaki Glico Co., Ltd. have embarked on an exciting journey to celebrate local flavors with the launch of the "Chiba and Glico Culinary Project." This initiative aims to harness the power of locally sourced food ingredients combined with Glico's products to create delightful dishes while promoting local consumption and revitalizing the regional economy.

Project Overview

The collaboration will include various culinary events and offerings from June 11 to June 26, where residents and visitors can indulge in delicious menus that highlight the exceptional ingredients from Chiba. The project is also part of the Chiba Collaboration Partnership, a program designed to strengthen ties between the government and local businesses.

Collaborative Menu Launch at Chiba Prefectural Office Cafeteria

Running from June 22 to June 26, the Chiba Prefectural Office cafeteria will introduce a limited-time collaborative menu, emphasizing the use of Chiba-grown vegetables and seafood. Each dish will focus on nutritional balance and flavor, ensuring a healthy yet delightful dining experience. Highlights include:
  • - June 22: Sky Restaurant Reimei – Tomato & Colorful Pepper Hashed Beef
  • - June 23: Chuka Chika Cafeteria – Grilled Sardines with Curry Caponata Sauce
  • - June 25: Chuka Chika Cafeteria – Carbonara with Cream Soup Spaghetti
The cafeteria menu aims to utilize a minimum of 170g of vegetables per serving, thus promoting both local produce and healthy eating habits among diners.

Presentation of Collaborative Menu at AEON Mall Tsudanuma

In another part of the initiative, from June 11 to June 15, the AEON Mall Tsudanuma will host a "Chiba Prefecture Fair," which will feature collaborative dishes made with local ingredients and Glico products. On display will be:
  • - Ibo Pork and Shiroko Onion Exquisite Curry: This dish brings together Ibo pork raised on starchy feed derived chiefly from sweet potatoes, along with Shiroko onions known for their sweetness and texture, paired with Glico’s signature curry mix.
  • - Purple Milk: A vibrant beverage crafted from local milk combined with your choice of Glico’s ice cream balls, resulting in a colorful drink that’s both refreshing and visually appealing.
This culinary project promises to introduce innovative ways to savor regional ingredients while encouraging more consumption of local agricultural and marine resources.
