Discover Insights from Attilio's First Longevity Gathering at Stanford and Buck Institute

Inside Attilio's Pioneering Longevity Event

On October 29th and 30th, Attilio marked a significant milestone in health optimization with its inaugural Longevity Event, held at the prestigious Stanford University and the renowned Buck Institute for Research on Aging. The event welcomed founding members and influential longevity scientists who exchanged knowledge on maximizing health in an aging world.

The average life expectancy in the United States has impressively climbed from 47 years in 1900 to nearly 77 years by 2000, as reported by the Stanford Center on Longevity. Attilio's mission is clear—to illuminate how these extra years can be spent in vibrant health. The discussions were led by esteemed figures such as Dr. Laura Carstensen, a founding director at the Stanford Center on Longevity, who introduced the concept of the 'New Map of Life', advocating for a paradigm shift that ensures longevity encompasses all life stages, rather than simply extending the end of life.

Dr. Eric Verdin and co-chair of the event emphasized a geroscience approach, addressing the root biological processes of aging, which underlie many chronic diseases. By tackling aging itself, he argued, we can delay the onset of multiple health conditions simultaneously. Alongside Dr. Michele Miller, attendees were walked through the innovative Dr. Verdin Baseline Assessment, which aids individuals in determining their current health capacity.

Another highlight was Dr. Robert Waldinger from Harvard University, presenting findings from the long-standing Harvard Study of Adult Development which concluded that satisfaction in close relationships during midlife is a stronger predictor of later health than social class, intelligence, or genetics.

The agenda was packed with insightful presentations, including discussions on the immune system’s role in aging led by Dr. David Furman, and睡眠の影響 on health from experts, Dr. Michael Breus and Dr. Sahil Chopra. Each session was designed to inspire proactive health measures and preventative care approaches, with open conversations led by Dr. Mike Stone and Dr. Nathan Price.

One of the defining features of the event was its commitment to neutrality—there were no sponsors influencing the discussions, aligning with Attilio's Conflict-Free Standards. Attendees paid to learn directly from the faculty, ensuring that the focus was solely on the science and evidence.

Across both days, a recurring theme emerged: the potential for life-changing impacts as we redefine our approach to longevity. Attilio's overarching aim is to democratize access to a quality lifespan of over 100 years, aspiring to reach 99% of the U.S. population.

This event was just the beginning, with the next Longevity Event scheduled for March 26, 2027, at the Buck Institute, continuing the journey toward extended health and vital living.
