Tokyu Group's Monthly Community Activities: May Highlights
The Tokyu Group is deeply rooted in the communities they serve, engaging in numerous activities that reflect their commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. This month, we have reports from two regions—Hiroshima and Chiba—highlighting their initiatives that aim to promote sports and environmental awareness, as well as introducing the Kumamoto Tokyu Association which is actively involved in regional cooperation and volunteer work.
Hiroshima Tokyu Association: Ninoshima Clean Volunteer Support Project

In Hiroshima, the Tokyu Association organized a clean-up initiative on Ninoshima Island, a beloved destination for local residents. Following the successful planting of cherry trees in 2022, volunteers engaged with the local community to assess the growth of these trees and partake in beach and island clean-up activities. Although weather conditions were rainy, the volunteers successfully connected with island residents, receiving heartfelt thanks for their contributions.
Yuuichi Watanaka, from Tokyu Recreation and Hiroshi Tokyu REI Hotel, expressed his gratitude for the warmth and support of the local community throughout the project, emphasizing the motivation and camaraderie displayed among volunteers despite the rain. The day not only contributed to environmental beautification but also fostered deeper relationships with the local residents.
Chiba Tokyu Association: Chiba Tokyu Cup Moms' Volleyball Tournament

Participants: 120 (8 teams)
In Chiba, the 30th Chiba Tokyu Cup Moms' Volleyball Tournament was held, featuring teams from across the prefecture. This event, aimed at promoting local volleyball participation, showcased intense competition as eight teams battled through the finals. The atmosphere was charged with excitement and enthusiasm, proving that community bonding through sports remains a source of joy and inspiration.
Kazuo Yoshino, representing Tokyu Resorts and Stays, highlighted the collaboration with the Chiba Prefecture Moms' Volleyball Federation, underscoring their shared goal to continue nurturing and growing local volleyball initiatives. The tournament concluded with heartfelt appreciation from the participants, who received special prizes, including rice for the winning team.
Spotlight: Kumamoto Tokyu Association
The Kumamoto Tokyu Association, composed of four local companies, actively engages in various volunteer activities such as agricultural support services and environmental preservation through community-cleaning projects. They also host movie screenings for local families and children from welfare facilities to strengthen community ties.
Kazuyuki Soeda from Tokyu Recreation and Kumamoto Tokyu REI Hotel reflects on the profound connections made with communities, particularly during the 10th anniversary of the 2016 Kumamoto earthquake. Their commitment to disaster recovery and the enhancement of community engagement continues to shape the essence of their initiatives.
