Background of the Event
This event is part of the
Junior Engineering Education Program organized by the University of Tokyo’s Metaverse Engineering Department. It targets middle and high school students across the nation. Using the popular manga series
Dragon Sakura as a backdrop, the event will convey important lessons about the value of education and problem-solving skills. It emphasizes that gaining university admission is merely the starting point, and the true journey lies in pursuing one’s dreams and continuing to face challenges ahead.

Presentation: “Understanding the Value of Tokyo University! You Could Be the Dragon Sakura!”

Norifumi Mita, the renowned author of the
Dragon Sakura series. He will share heartfelt messages with middle and high school students, discussing the significance of striving for Tokyo University and what it represents in today’s world. You could be the protagonist of your own
Dragon Sakura story!

Panel Discussion
- The first half comprises a dialogue between Professor Kato and Mita-san, while the latter half involves active university students participating in a talk session. They will touch upon the essence of student life, research endeavors, and the realities of studying at Tokyo University, offering a unique view on the current educational climate.

- Attendees will have the chance to submit questions in advance. In addition, questions from the venue will also be welcome. This will provide participants with the opportunity to clear any doubts and find inspiration for the next step in their educational journey.
