This event is part of the Junior Engineering Education Program organized by the University of Tokyo’s Metaverse Engineering Department. It targets middle and high school students across the nation. Using the popular manga series Dragon Sakura as a backdrop, the event will convey important lessons about the value of education and problem-solving skills. It emphasizes that gaining university admission is merely the starting point, and the true journey lies in pursuing one’s dreams and continuing to face challenges ahead.

Program Highlights

1. Keynote Speech: “You Are the Future!”
- Delivered by Professor Yasuhiro Kato, Dean of the Graduate School of Engineering at The University of Tokyo.
He will share insights about his personal experiences with entrance exams and delve deeper into the allure of engineering and the university itself. His candid message will remind students that acceptance into the University of Tokyo is just the beginning, unveiling the myriad possibilities that lie ahead.

2. Presentation: “Understanding the Value of Tokyo University! You Could Be the Dragon Sakura!”
- This segment features Norifumi Mita, the renowned author of the Dragon Sakura series. He will share heartfelt messages with middle and high school students, discussing the significance of striving for Tokyo University and what it represents in today’s world. You could be the protagonist of your own Dragon Sakura story!

3. Panel Discussion
- The first half comprises a dialogue between Professor Kato and Mita-san, while the latter half involves active university students participating in a talk session. They will touch upon the essence of student life, research endeavors, and the realities of studying at Tokyo University, offering a unique view on the current educational climate.

4. Q&A Session
- Attendees will have the chance to submit questions in advance. In addition, questions from the venue will also be welcome. This will provide participants with the opportunity to clear any doubts and find inspiration for the next step in their educational journey.
