Post Consumer Brands Marks Five Years of Community Support through Volunteer Initiative
In the realm of corporate social responsibility, Post Consumer Brands stands out with its commitment to community service through its acclaimed 'Ingredients for Good' initiative. Launched five years ago, this volunteer program showcases the efforts of the company's employees across 24 locations in the United States and Canada, who dedicate their time to combat food insecurity. During April, which is celebrated as National Volunteer Month, these employees came together to contribute significantly to local nonprofit organizations.
Throughout the past five years, Post Consumer Brands has invested over $1.2 million into local communities to tackle food insecurity, a pressing issue affecting millions. Recent statistics from Feeding America indicate that over 48 million people in the U.S. and Canada face food insecurity, while PetSmart Charities reveals that more than 30 million pets are also at risk of hunger. Given this alarming situation, Post Consumer Brands' volunteer initiative aims to make a difference by providing meals and snacks to those in need.
This year alone, Post Consumer Brands employees have accumulated more than 6,800 volunteer hours, resulting in more than 460,000 meals being donated, packed, and funded. The latest report shows that the company contributed $330,000 in 2026, distributing over 192,000 meals and snack packs to families struggling with food insecurity. Greg Pearson, president and CEO of Post Consumer Brands, emphatically stated, "At Post Consumer Brands, our purpose is to make lives better by making delicious food accessible for all. We take pride in serving our communities through this initiative."
Throughout April, over 1,200 employees committed more than 1,600 hours to various local service projects aimed at assisting underserved communities. The initiative has positively impacted more than 52 nonprofit organizations, rewarding the hands-on contributions of employees who have assembled and served vital meals for families and their pets. This year, volunteer efforts were concentrated in 11 locations that partnered with the Greater Twin Cities United Way, where pantry packs, snack packs, and pet packs were made and distributed to local nonprofits.
Participating locations spanned several states and provinces, including Asheboro (North Carolina), Battle Creek (Michigan), Bentonville (Arkansas), and more. Remote employees, too, actively supported local nonprofits in their respective communities, reflecting the organization’s widespread commitment to service.
Looking back over the last five years, the 'Ingredients for Good' initiative exemplifies Post Consumer Brands' enduring commitment to addressing food insecurity and fostering a strong culture of volunteering. The company believes that by mobilizing its workforce to participate actively in their communities, it not only fulfills its purpose but also builds connections that strengthen the bonds of society.
