B-JET Program Launches 15th Term to Connect Bangladesh IT Talent with Japan

B-JET Program: Connecting Bangladesh IT Talent with Japan

In October 2025, the 15th term of the Bangladesh-Japan ICT Engineersʼ Training Program (B-JET) commenced under the auspices of Shinko Publishing Keirin-kan based in Osaka. This program is designed to bridge the gap between young ICT professionals and Japanese companies, enhancing the educational experience for participants. With a new operational structure in place, the program aims to leverage our expertise in developing educational materials to produce unique Japanese language resources, ensuring a richer learning environment.

Overview of B-JET Term 15

The latest phase of the B-JET program is dedicated to developing human resources with a keen focus on the Japanese job market. Collaborating with Miyazaki International Education Services (MIES), a venture originating from Miyazaki University, significant progress is being made in the creation of Japanese language materials. These resources will subsequently be made available for general sales, potentially elevating the overall standard of Japanese language education.

  • - Program Duration: October 2025 - March 2026
  • - Number of Participants: 24

Collaborating Organizations for Program Management

Addressing Social Challenges with B-JET

The IT industry in Bangladesh is poised for growth, with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) reporting an annual production of approximately 20,000 digital professionals. However, challenges such as salary levels and employment stability severely limit the opportunities for these engineers to fully utilize their skills. In contrast, Japan faces a projected shortage of IT professionals, with estimates suggesting up to 790,000 vacancies by 2030 according to the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry.

B-JET aims to address these issues on both sides by creating a platform for collaboration between academia, government, and industry across borders. The program not only focuses on recruiting IT engineers but welcomes partnerships with organizations interested in addressing societal issues and expanding their operations overseas. For businesses wanting to get involved, further details can be obtained through the contact information provided below.

What is B-JET?

Initiated in 2017 through a collaboration between the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC), B-JET is a training program aimed at equipping Bangladeshi IT talent for employment in Japan. Initially designed as a pilot project anticipating future privatization, B-JET has evolved into a sustainable model.

Since 2021, successor initiatives have been undertaken by various entities, including National University Corporation Miyazaki University, North South University in Bangladesh, BJIT Group, and B&M, along with Shinko Publishing Keirin-kan. Over eight years, around 250 graduates have successfully relocated to Japan and are now thriving as IT engineers across the country. Recently, graduates from B-JET have also taken roles in initiating local branches and deploying global projects, further aiding businesses in their international outreach.

Launching Term 15

The B-JET program was established as a JICA technical cooperation initiative from 2017 to 2020 in partnership with the Bangladesh Computer Council. We extend our heartfelt respect and gratitude to all stakeholders who laid the groundwork for this program. Since 2021, we at Shinko Publishing have supported this initiative through a donation program. Starting from the 15th term, our collaboration with North South University evolves from support to co-managing the program entirely.

As a landmark in this transition, the newly established B-JET Center at North South University will officially open its doors, serving as a hub for talented youths in Bangladesh to learn, share, and grow. Through this center, we aim to closely support B-JET students in their endeavors and collaboratively pave the way towards a brighter future. We sincerely hope that this 15th term of B-JET becomes an invaluable opportunity for learning, forging a bridge between Japan, Bangladesh, and the world.
