Pre-Registration Now Open for the Construction Work Style Forum 2026
The Suke-Dachi Research Institute, operated by Suke-Dachi Corporation located in Shinjuku, Tokyo, has officially announced the opening of pre-registration for the major event,
Construction Work Style Forum 2026. Set to take place on May 22, 2026, at the Toranomon Hills Forum in Minato City, the forum aims to address the escalating labor shortage issues within the construction industry through collaborative discussions involving government, industry, academia, and labor sectors.
This significant forum strives to tackle the ongoing challenges posed by a chronic shortage of skilled laborers in Japan's construction sector. While the workforce continues to age, the entry of younger individuals into the field remains sluggish, making the recruitment of new talent an urgent priority. Concurrently, there persists a high demand for construction services due to the need for maintaining and upgrading aging social infrastructure as well as urban redevelopment projects. The pressing question remains how to meet these needs with limited human resources.
To address such complex challenges, there have been various initiatives within both the public and private sectors, including legislative improvements like the Work Style Reform Act and the Employment Stabilization for Construction Workers Act. Additionally, transformative changes are called upon, including implementing Construction DX for productivity enhancement and utilizing a diverse array of human resources such as foreign workers and women in the industry.
Recognizing the need for a collaborative approach, involving stakeholders ranging from large general contractors to local small construction firms, artisans, and service providers, the
Construction Work Style Forum was inaugurated in 2024. This forum serves as a venue for sustained discussions aimed at the future development of the construction industry.

Furthermore, a dedicated communication area was established, allowing attendees to explore the latest technologies and products while also providing a platform for informal exchanges.
